2019 best nine according to Instagram 💫

Thank you so much for appreciating my art experiments. You don’t know how much each like, reblog and encouraging comments mean to me. To keep it short, it helps motivate me to improve every time I ask myself (which I do a lot) ‘Why and what the hell am I doing?’.

I wish I could remember this everyday and I hope you will too.

The final piece alongside the inspiration for the small contest I joined held by Chalkola. (You may see the process on how I made it in my previous post.) I was deciding on how I can make something whimsical and this was in front of me when I was drafting so that’s why I used it. 

The concept that I initially intended to convey for this piece, although I’m not sure if I was able to execute it, is holding on to hope. 

The “the little sunflower village” symbolizes hope enclosed in glass which means it’s fragile. It’s supposed to be a place where everything is bright and comfortable. The hands were intended to be grey to convey that the person is not in a happy state. As for the sharp crystals below the sunflower village, it was supposed to portray life’s struggles. I was thinking of life as it is, a mixture of yellow and blue. 

Basically, I wanted to show that despite being in a not-so-happy state and being stabbed by life’s struggles, the person is holding on to hope.
