Ernesto Bañuelos

Last week I had the opportunity to see Bajofondo at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. This was the first time I’ve come to see them and to the venue. Being a very intimate space, I was fairly close to the stage and I could see virtually everything very clear. I remember the first time I heard of them, it was because of the song named “El mareo” a collaboration between Bajofondo and the late Gustavo Cerati. Then I followed one of the member’s work as a score composer, Mr. Gustavo Santaolalla. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I left pleasantly surprised as I became one of many of their fans during the two hours the concert lasted.

De los diversos instrumentos del hombre, el más asombroso es, sin duda, el libro. Los demás son extensiones de su cuerpo. El microscopio, el telescopio, son extensiones de su vista; el teléfono es extensión de la voz; luego tenemos el arado y la espada, extensiones de su brazo. Pero el libro es otra cosa: el libro es una extensión de la memoria y de la imaginación.
