before she can get far though, there is suddenly a person in front of her, their hand reaching for the book that her own had happened to stop at. eye’s briefly widening at the man’s sudden presence, she steps back while shaking her head.

“oh, no. please, take it. you definitely want it more than I do,” she says, answering his previous question, before continuing with; “and I apologise for almost running into you.”

it’s the expression that changes quickly as the female turns to him. he’s almost taken a back for a mere moment, his eyes blinking slowly. maybe she didn’t notice he was there, he really didn’t even need the book and he could always order online or get it back ordered -- it wasn’t that big of a deal. 

he gives a small smile to the female and shakes his head towards her. “ no worries, you were probably here first right?” he asks, truly not even sure who had gotten to the book first. the only reason why he reached for it is because he wanted to buy a new book for himself. he was sure that the many books his family had upon multiple shelves in the in home library, he could find something to pick up and read. if not he could just read the book from his tablet. “ are you sure though, i mean i don’t need it, you can have it.” he spoke, putting his hand down as well. 

he made sure to catch the name of the book and wrote it down in his phone. he would surely look it up when he gotten back home. 

usually, dylan wouldn’t find himself in such predicaments but here he was and he felt really bad about it. even if it was something accidental and the object that hit the ground rather hard looked as if it wasn’t the latest model, he still felt that he should take some responsibility for it. of course, most people would assume that dylan was someone that only cared for himself -- which was kind of true in a way, but he knew when it was his fault at hand he had to own up for it and that’s what he was going to do. 

he looks at ( @dhwmilo​ ) with an apologetic smile at first. he knew quite well that the male didn’t like him based on his status so to say. he was very much aware, and the male made it known that he didn’t like him. so, this mishap only made it worst and problem distanced the two even more than it already was. not that dylan cared if the male hated him or not because he was rich but he still felt like he needed to repay his debt.

“hey!” he calls out, beaming at them despite his very clearly agitated tone. he half-runs, half-waddles towards them (he can only go so fast with toddlers in tow) and as soon as he’s within comfortable speaking distance, he begins. “you haven’t seen any bouncy balls rolling around, have you? i think they were…. blue… and red? yeah, blue and red. ‘bout the size of a dilated pupil, maybe. i’d make a circle with my fingers for reference, but… well, you know.”

the you know is in reference to the fact that he’s afraid he might lose a child if he dares to let go for even a second. this day isn’t going very well so far and that’s the last thing that he needs to add to it. “they’ve got pretty strong bouncing power, i’ve heard. so who knows where they are now—… well, if you haven’t seen them, can you help us look? please?”

red and blue sphere shapes bounces down his way. watching as they roll past him but he doesn’t think much of it. hands buried in his pockets as he walks along the road where the daycare is located, nothing in particular he needs from there but he has business in the general area that the building was in. usually, he would ignore any request upon his father but when the old man threatens your living situations, things get a bit hectic and one becomes desperate enough to do what one says. 

so, there he was in the midst of heading to a ‘very important’ meeting with who knows in donghwa-do. during this time he could be studying, going to the water to look at anything new he could find along the shores and maybe even the lakes. he could even be going out with friends having a good time, yet he’s here looking for the building that he father gave him the address too. 

its the sound of a male’s voice that brings his attention to him. a young male with two kids. he could assume he was a working at the daycare nearby, but he was more than sure that the center was still in business hours so why were two kids out of the building. he blinks as he male gets closer. “two balls ? ” he cants his head to the left slightly upon thinking. of course he saw them rolling down the road. “ one red and one blue, hm. perhaps they rolled down the road with such speed and right into the gutters. ” he shook his head towards the misfortune of that possibly happening, but it didn’t. 

if there was one main thing the dojun ( @dhwdojun​ ) and he had in common they were both rich. when it came to their family, their fathers just so happened to be long time friends. of course, because dylan refused to take part of taking over his father’s company or even giving it the amount of attention that both his parents wanted him to give they showed great disappointment. dylan on the other hand didn’t show much care in his lavish status, princely like ( even though others would say differently towards the attitude he brings towards himself ) embodiment, nor the amount of money he had. he’d always felt a strong urge to do things his way. 

so, it came much to a surprise when he saw that dojun felt the same in a way, even though his parents wanted dylan to be much like dojun. though what they failed to realize was that dylan and the other had the same thought process during each event they were dragged into. dojun making a effective five-minute plan - or so he calls it, where he attends for five minutes and leaves. that way, his father couldn’t say he wasn’t there. it was genius to dylan. for he sometimes just didn’t show up at all having to bare the scoldings of his father the day after. 

when their five minute mark was up, the escape would commence. “ and here is to our five minutes of boredom ! now the real fun begins ! ” dylan spoke with much excitement. of couse, he spent LONG days studying for university, but there was nothing like having a good time with the timing was right. 

mad hatter’s tea had been the perfect place to happen to donghwa-do for as long as he could remember. serving the best teas whether hot or cold or even what’s most popular these days ‘bubble tea’. within this little shop of wonders sits a bookshop right along with it. it was like a thirst he had to learn some new things, but he knew as well that he could count on the bookshop to offer what he needed for extra learning material needed for school. 

this particular day, dylan found himself wanting to add a new book to his ever growing collection. not as if his massive library in his home didn’t have things he needed already, but it was nice to purchase things he wanted with his own money and how relaxing the vibe of the shop was he wouldn’t be so hesitant to work here as well. though, he knew for certain that his father would never let him hear the end of it if he was caught having some kind of part-time job. as if that wasn’t normal for people to have ? what would he know when everything was given to him on a silver platter. 

just as his hand goes to reach for the book that had caught his eye as he was browsing along the ailses of the bookshop, another hand moved in the same direction, the two seemingly wanting the same item. “ ah... did you want this one too... ? ” he spoke, hoping the other would say no no matter how selfish that sound, though dylan knew himself well enough to know that if  that person had wanted the book badly he would just let them take it.
