“This is why you left… isn’t it?”
Sun stared at the wall, at all the photos she had taken of herself and her new friends, at the shelves filled with trinkets and plants and origami, at the posters of Wall-E and My Little Pony and Sailor Moon and other movies, bands, and shows they liked, at the artwork she either made herself or had commissioned, at the large trans and bi flags that were proudly hung up the wall.
Sun stared at the life Nexus had created in this small bunker underground and he was finally realizing something he should’ve already known from the beginning.
Nexus watched Sun carefully, watched how his eyes scanned over each frame and shelf in their small fear created home as she swallowed down hard on nothing.
“You were right to leave,” Sun said.
Nexus was caught by surprise at this and yet she remained unmoving, trying so hard to keep a blank expression despite her quivering lip.
Sun reached up toward one of the shelves, taking a small origami dragon made from purple paper off the wooden surface, and cradled it in his hands as if it were made of glass.
“I always thought you were failing us. But if you were happier here…maybe… we were failing you.”
Nexus couldn’t control the overwhelming emotions that washed over them like a flood. She turned her head away, refusing to look at Sun as tears began streaming uncontrollably down her face. She scolded herself mentally, almost begging herself to stop crying. Her trembling and sniffles didn’t go unnoticed.
“Nexus?”
“I hate you…” Nexus said in the smallest pathetic wobbled squeaky voice that she ever heard come out of her voice box.
It took a minute of them standing there in silence before one of them moved… and it was Sun that initiated the hug. Nexus found herself melting into it, almost desperately. She buried her face into his shoulder, clutching his vest with both hands like it would anchor her there. Sun held her like she was going to disappear again and that little paper dragon was still held carefully in his hand without an unwanted crease or crinkle.

i know anytime sun compared Nexus to Moon he didn't mean to be rude or hurtful, but GOOD GOD finally we have Sun admitting he did so, i do not blame him entirely for Nexus' downfall, but i was getting sick of people saying he never did that xd and this is just a flashback, WE saw Sun compare him to Moon when New Moon was alive a lot of times

the way i honestly thought it was from the fandom and was like, hey let's chill, the insight that it's from the staff oof😭
but yeah, i don't like the ship either since the show just does 1-3 interactions between characters then bam they're together or implied to going to be together in the end every single time
it is SO BAD AHDKHSJ I think the only time they ever did a slow build up for a ship was lumini and whether people liked it or not, i think that was a nicely developed pair, they were ACTUALLY bonding and spending time together SO OF COURSE it works
but then they push two characters together with actually nothing in common and not real dynamic and they force "chemistry" between them for it to end up being absolutely dog water shfkshfj OR THEY DEVELOP A COOL INTERESTING SHIP coughrosiesuncough and it ends up killed lmao

I honestly think that Carmine is in desperate need of a rewrite. I was put off him initially because of his design (which I’m still not a fan of), and him being at a disadvantage of being a character introduced to the show after I stopped watching, but he seems to get worse and worse with each episode. He doesn’t seem to be all that kind and sweet, like the show claims he is, and he’s another UNLICENSED THERAPIST.
eeeh i love carme, i wonder about him a lot, but YEAH I HAAATE THE THERAPIST THING AND NOO YOU CANNOT GIVE THERAPY TO SOMEONE CLOSE TO YOU NOR YOU SHOULD ENGAGE WITH HIS FAMILY OR FRIENDS
