as foxes burrow.

as bears hunt for fish.

stretched over a mile long, for almost a hundred years strong, our modern gate of gold, a mark of human grandeur standing bold,

all we've ever known, floating in an inky void, on this pale blue orb.

sand between my toes, the smell of salt in the air, the tide rises to me.

waiting on the wind, sitting adrift on the sea, still as the night sky.

the old woods sway.

crashing on the shore, waves spray mist into the air, birds dive in for fish.

shimmering moonlight, reflect in rippling water, fish feed in twilight.
