Hello my little Advocates!!!
Thank you so much for the support in my little ask series here on Tumbler!
Since more and more people are finding it and I'm getting around 10 at the least too 16 at most likes, which I am very grateful for, most people would think thats a small amount but if I was in a room with 10-16 people id get overwhelmed, I decided to make a pinned post that is kinda like a description!
So, "What is 'The Devil's Advocates AU'?"
"The Devil's Advocates AU" is a Cuphead AU I've had in mind for a long while! It first started when I was a little lad, around 12-13 and I first came across "Bendy & Boris in Quest for the Ink Machine" and @cacartoon's Comic which I saw were a of comic called "Tumbler Ask Comics".
These comics intreseted me for 2 reasons!
The concept of having a comic that my viewers could interact with was intriguing to me, but also having a comic where I could have a multitude of fandoms in it, not just one! I was also into the Bendy Γ Cuphead comic series by @l-ii-zz (They where the one to get me into Bendystraw), so I whipped up a story that was slightly inspired by the "Casino Cups" AU by @askcupsandcasinos
I was a big fan of the "Casino Cups" AU and while watching the dubs by @voadamyt I would think to myself, "What if after a few years, after the fight with the Devil, Elder Kettle died, leaving the Cup Bros broke and Mugman decided to get a job at the Devil's casino, a lot like this AU, but its only Mugman working there and he doesn't want Cuphead to find out!?
And thats how I came up with "The Devil's Advocates AU"!
But, you're probably wondering, "Axol! If you thought of the idea when you where 12-13, why are you only working on it and posting it now?!"
And to that i say... I lost interest. The creator for "QOTIM" had been outted as problematic and I didn't see people talking about "Tumbler Ask Comics" as much anymore once covid-19 hit, so, I assumed my comic would be a lost cost. I had ended up having a bad home life along side it as well.
My parents had gotten divorced, which was a good thing considering my father was emotionally abusive, but my mother had started struggling, she had never been a single mother, but thankfully, she had lots of support from friends and family, and she started to get better! My mother is a fighter, and shes a strong woman, once Covid was coming to an end, my mom had realized that, even though she is a single mother of 3 now, shes doing better than she ever has. She recently a few months ago bought the house we are living in, we moved A LOT so its nice to finally have a place to call home and call our roots!
But now you're probably wondering, "What motivated you to finnaly start working on it 4-3 years later!?"
It was the "Bendy & Boris in The Myth of the Machine" by @flygutzz & @nortsauce. I wasn't sure what it was at first, but bits and pieces of it, edits, and fan animations/fan art/fan comics of it kept appearing on my TikTok, so finnaly I checked it out and realized what it was! "Oh! It's a re-write of QOTIM made to be less problematic and created by a non-problematic creator(s)!"
So, I sat down, and read it! From the Prologue to the End of Chapter 1 (which was all that was out at the time), and it clicked. I immediately started getting to work, I was so excited. Although since I had wrote the AU when I was 12-13 I have re-wrote a fair bit of it, added new characters too the story such as SMG4 and Dandy's World characters, since I had gotten into those fandoms in the span of 4-3 years.
And that is how I have created this series!!!
But now, you're probably wondering, "Who made this series?" And to that I say-
@forkliftcertifiedfridge is the name! Well, at least that is my Tumbler username, you guys can call me;
Axol, Axolotl, Fridge, Forklift Driver, and/or whatever nicknames yall come up with
