Just a Girl

Intro/headcanons:

Bouncing a bit with each step he took towards the pet store, Phil could barely contain his excitement. He was about to get a pet of his own - or at least a shared pet with his sister. Much like when he first got his job at the Lucky Cat and then again when he bought good groceries with his first allowance from the boyband, he felt like this was a real step into his adulthood. As they got to the front door, he turned back to grin at Lil before pushing it open. “You’re gonna pick out the cat and I’ll choose the ferret, right? ‘Cause I feel like it’s gotta be a little chunky - that’s a good vibe for a ferret.” Technically it should probably be the other way around since the ferret would be living with Lil while the cat stayed at the boyband house with Phil - but it was the weasel like animal was what he was really excited to get.  @devillelil​

Lil’s plans for a pet had changed drastically since she had first mentioned the idea to Phil — but not in a bad way, of course. In fact, Phil had convinced Lil to get a ferret. It was a bold move, but Phil had agreed to get a cat for the guys’ house, to which she could pick out herself. Was she more excited for the cat or the ferret? She wasn’t really sure, but what wasn’t exciting about new pets in general? The twins were both clearly eager as they approached the pet store. “Yep! I was going to say the same thing about the cat — chunky cats are the best kind!” Entering the store, Lil looked at her brother excitedly. “Do you think they’ll get along? I hope they end up best friends. Maybe we could even get them instagram famous!”

danny had never been good at advice, and was easily the last person anyone should be listening to about…well most things. so, when lil admits she isn’t really sure what to do with her degree he has nothing to really say. he didn’t know what she could do with it either. but, he can still at least offer some encouragement. “you’ve got time to figure it out,” he smiles. “even if after you graduate you still don’t have a set idea that’s alright. the right thing will come to you, so don’t stress about it.” that comes from his own personal experience. it should be no surprise to anyone that knows anything about him that ghost hunting show host was not his initial plan. hell, broadcast media isn’t even what he’d originally went to school for. but that was neither here nor there. danny looks over at lil, eyebrows raised as she breathes out a ‘woah’ in response to the mausoleum. “definitely creepy. I’d hold off on cool though.” he shakes his head, quiet chuckle leaving his lips as they continued the path to their destination. when they reach the giant stone doors, Danny’s hands instinctively move to pull the door open. but he freezes, looking back at lil. “last call on bailing.” it’s unlikely she’ll take the out, but he can’t help but offer one last time.

“Already turned my room into an at home gym?” he jokes back, knowing fully well that hadn’t happened. Or at least, Phil liked to think it hadn’t. After all, the living arrangement with the boys wasn’t permanent he was pretty sure, so chances were high he’d probably be moving back in here whenever the rest of the band decided it was time to move out or they had bonded enough. “Can I name the cat?” It’s the first reaction he has to the idea of his sister getting a pet to fill up the space he’d left behind. “What kind do you think you’ll get? What about a little orange one?” It’s probably not the type of answer that Lil was expecting, but at least it showed his enthusiasm for the idea.

“Not yet,” Lil replied with a smirk. “You should be proud that I’ve held back from the temptation for this long,” she joked. Truthfully, she didn’t want to change Phil’s room, keeping it the way he left it for if and when he was ready to come back. “How did I know that would be the first thing you’d ask?” She asked with a laugh. “Only if it’s a cool name. Deal?” She probably wouldn’t be picky about the name unless he picked something really dumb or too common. “I haven’t thought about that yet, actually.” She used the remote to press play on the movie, thinking for a moment. “It would probably be a boy — but I’m not gonna care what he looks like. If he seems like the one, he’ll be the one.”

A quick smile appeared on the face, making efforts not to let a smirk appear or make a comment about the height, because it was kind of fun to remind Lil that she was shorty. Was that being mean? “Quite tall, you could stretch a bit and you almost reach my shoulder.” Not mocking, but was a truth stament as his hand closed firmly and gently around her to help with balance. Looking at those heels, Pascal would rather walk barefoot in the masquerade than he even try to walk with those torture pieces tied on his feet. “Really? You’re really lucky because you can take them off at any time, princess, if it were possible I would change my options.” His intention was not to offend, letting out a sigh as his hands adjusted the bow tie around the neck as if the mere presence of it caused itching, regretting having chosen that type of clothing to attend the event. Better a casual look that includes sneakes and tattered jeans. He looked questioning at the mention of going out to dance, pondering the idea without even being intimidated by the idea of ​​heels stepping on his feet. Crazy stuff never stop popping around, why being afraid of that? Dance wasn’t the best hobby but they already sang together at karaoke, not to mention that as a kid, Pascal mother’s forced him to attend dance classes and classical dances. “Why would you embarrass yourself for something so trivial? People can be clumsy. Just follow the rhythm and eyes here.” Fingers brushed the corner of her eyes to make a movement that indicated that they were watching his. Maybe this was a bit out of character from him, but for once there was gratitude for the shameful past. “Have I ever mentioned that I’m a dancer since i was a child?”

As Pascal smiled, Lil smiled, as well. She was no stranger to comments about her height from Pascal and many others, but events like these were the few times she’d wear heels to feel tall and fancy. Even if she was a klutz and had terrible balance in them, she considered it an easy sacrifice for one night of looking cute and not being short. “Yep, just gotta stand on my tippy toes to get there,” she agreed, immediately attempting to do so until she almost lost her balance in the process. “Maybe we’ll save that for after we leave,” she giggled. She was trying her best not to be a goofball, knowing the masquerade was technically a formal event. “Why would I take them off? It’s just for a few hours,” she answered, even though she did in fact want to take them off. She didn’t want to be that person that ended up barefoot by the end of the night. Noticing Pascal fiddling with his bowtie, she reached her hands up to help him loosen his collar and the bowtie slightly. “Is that better?” She asked as she looked up at him with a smile. She was surprised he wasn’t immediately against the idea of dancing, her eyebrows raising curiously at his response. “You have not mentioned that. You’re just full of surprises, aren’t you?” She giggled. “So you’re the expert on this? You think you can show me your moves and give me a few pointers?”

Pacifica flashed her a genuine smile at the compliment, finding this dress in time for the vent had been a real miracle and she was pretty proud of herself. And finding a way for Phil to match her - even more so. “Anything that sounds fancy is always good, right?” A slight joke considering how fake and horrible most fancy things had been in her own life so far ( aka her entire family line ). “You came with…Pascal?” She’d picked up on the fact of them hanging out together a lot and she just assumed that meant they were together and would be here together too. “Are you having a good time?” Jesus, small talk was exhausting. 

While Lil found Phil and Paz’s relationship a little confusing, she wasn’t one to judge her brother, and she had no reason to judge Pacifica, either. “Mm, I don’t know, I think that’s what they want you to think, and that’s why they make it sound fancy,” Lil replied, even though she had very little experience with high class, fancy foods. “I did! He’s sitting over there, being antisocial as always,” she joked, pointing to the general area where he sat. “I am having a good time, I think? I mean.. My feet are already killing me, but I kind of expected that to happen.” Lil didn’t understand how some people wore heels all the time without their feet falling off. but she was doing her best to stay strong. “What about you? Has my brother been annoying, or done anything embarrassing yet?”

danny knew she was in college, but hadn’t been aware that her graduation was so close. so, when she explains that to him he smiles brightly, genuinely excited for her despite having only known her for a few days at most. “that’s awesome.” he nods, biting his tongue to keep from launching into a ‘i remember when i was graduating’ story that literally no one asked for. he didn’t need to be that guy. “Ohhhh so you hate yourself?” he asks, laughing a little at the thought. It was bold, saving your hardest classes for the year that you’d undoubtedly be at your laziest. or maybe danny was just at his laziest his last semester of college. or, rather danny was at his laziest all the time. “What are you even majoring in?” he leads her through the cemetery, taking a sharp right turn through some tombstones before pointing at the mausoleum just up ahead. “That’s the spot, by the way” he adds. “Because of course this house just has a giant fucking mauseoleum in the backyard.” 

“Thanks,” Lil smiled. Sometimes, she would hesitate to talk about school to others, thinking they might find it boring or not really care, so it was nice to hear the encouraging response from Danny. “Yeah, pretty much,” she agreed with a laugh. “Sports management,” Lil answered as she followed him through the cemetery. “I haven’t really decided what I’m gonna do with my degree yet, but there’s actually a lot of different job opportunities for my major.” She looks toward where Danny pointed, eyebrows raising slightly. “Woah, that’s .. kinda creepy, but also kinda cool.”

“Sounds like a plan,” he agrees, eyes still staring at the cookie tray on the table in front of them. His hands practically itched to reach out and grab another one, but Phil stays strong. At least for the time being. “I might have to crash here tonight if we go all out, though.” It was already something he had planned to do but figured maybe he should warn Lil just to be safe. Even though it’s not like it should matter considering he still has his old room, but that was the polite thing to do, right? Phil didn’t really know actually.

“Sweet! I’m gonna start the first movie before we devour these suckers,” Lil joked as she could clearly see Phil eyeballing the plate of cookies. Walking up to the TV to turn it on and grab the remote, she wasn’t surprised that her brother was considering crashing for the night. She didn’t mind, of course, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t mess with him for a moment. “Hm, I’m not sure I’m gonna have the space for you to stay,” she shook her head jokingly. She used the remote to skip past the previews as she gave her brother a look like she had something on her mind. “But — I was gonna tell you, I was thinking about getting like .. a cat or something. To make the apartment feel a little less empty,” she admitted, glancing at Phil with raised eyebrows to see his reaction. Truthfully, Lil was more of a dog person, but she knew she didn’t have the time for a dog, and wouldn’t want to keep a dog cooped up in the apartment all the time. “What do you think?”

With a glass of champagne in hand, Pacifica surveyed the appetizer options, not entirely loving the look of any particular one but knowing she needed something to eat and soon. “What do you think?” She asked, turning to the person next to her, hoping they’d be able to make a choice for her. “Crostini or tartlet? I think there’s garlic on the shrimp and lord knows what that’ll do to my breath.” It took a second for her to register who she was talking to, smiling when the recognition hit. “Oh, hey, hi…I didn’t realize it was you.” Pacifica smiled softly, genuinely warm towards Lil but still a little awkward. How did one act around your fake boyfriend’s sister? // @devillelil​

Lil has snuck away from Pascal for a few minutes to get some snacks, somewhat used to her heels by this point to be able to escort herself to the table without assistance. There was lots of fancy things to choose from, which brought Lil’s indecision afloat as she stared at the options for a moment. Her focus was broken as she heard a familiar voice beside her, looking up at Paz and giving her a smile. It was obvious she didn’t recognize her at first, but that was no surprise as she was inches taller with her heels and wearing her masquerade mask. “The crostini sounds pretty fancy, so I think that’s the winner. Good point about the garlic, by the way.” It was kind of awkward, obvious that the two girls weren’t sure how to act around each other, but Lil didn’t mind or judge, continuing to be herself and be friendly. “Hey, it’s all good! You look awesome, by the way. I love your dress.”

It was nice to have Phil back at the apartment, even for just a little bit. The holidays wouldn’t be the same without him there, so Lil was feeling a little sappy as they got ready to watch some Christmas movies together. She had decorated the apartment a little extra this year to make it feel less empty, which was also an easy way to keep her busy and distracted when she wasn’t busy with school or sports. The two had already began munching on their Christmas cookies, and Lil also had to force herself from eating all of them at once with her brother. “Hmm..” she began to think for a moment before shrugging her shoulders. “Not sure. Maybe we’ll just watch the first two and then see how we’re feeling afterwards?” @dirtydeville​

Lil found it kind of funny how Pascal could so easily get frustrated at the small things in life. The two seemed to make a perfect balance, where Pascal was the one easily set off, while she was the one who was care free and didn’t mind the things that seemed to bother him. Lil could clearly see Pascal was annoyed as bystanders peaked at the couple under the mistletoe, but Lil just found it amusing. “Oh, don’t be such a grinch,” she smiled, bringing herself closer to him as his arms wrapped around her waist. His words were soft and sweet, and Lil felt her heart flutter ever so slightly. “I’m okay with that,” she answered, her smile still present as she noticed Pascal blush in front of her. She giggled and closed her eyes, feeling his forehead press against hers as they closed the space between them. It was a small, gentle kiss, and Lil smiled as Pascal pulled away. “Look? What look?” She giggled, standing on her tippy toes slightly to kiss his cheek. “That wasn’t so bad, now was it?” @chamelepascalcamouflage​

Location: Winter festival - Arendelle (Christmas decoration stand) Weather: Blizzard

“Seems like we’re going to stay here for a while. I’m Louie.” It was a basic rule that Louie kept a little safe distance with that stranger lying across the room, not out of fear of a attack but not knowing how to start a conversation with all the chaos outside. He couldn’t help looking from time to time at the phone screen and wondering how long they would be trapped there, besides being worried about Dewey and Huey, and a small part of him regretted that the line had been cut off by the blizzard. Not wanting to be a jerk, he approached her but leaving distance between them so as not to bother. “Surely there are already a rescue team or a police team on the way. Like in the movies.” That lacked negativity that would be normal in such a situation, trying not to let anxiety take control, and the fact that she did not interrupt or turn a deaf ear encouraged a small smile to be directed towards her in the hope of increasing the moral. Louie watched as she hugged herself without being sure if it was from the cold or worried about someone else so a blanket was slid towards her as the young triplet wrapped one up for himself. “Sure the others have found a shelter. I hope my brothers and my girlfriend are okay. And my friends and everyone else, of course.” @devillelil​

The winter festival took a turn that no one had expected, though Lil thought it was kind of cool. Yes, she was worried about her brother, boyfriend and friends safety, of course, but she had also never experienced getting stuck in a blizzard before. It was exciting and scary, at least she thought so. Not to mention, the blizzard gave her another opportunity to meet someone new at the festival. “I’m Lil,” she smiled at the new face, despite that she was cold and kind of bummed she didn’t make it home during the crazy storm. Though, she did at least have her phone with her to text everyone to make sure they were all safe. “Hopefully you’re right, but … I’m not too worried,” she admitted with a small shrug. She had a feeling that they were going to be okay, even as she was hugging herself for warmth. She was never used to weather this cold, so of course she was wearing something that was hardly warm. “Thanks,” she broke the silence as a blanket was passed to her, appreciating the gesture. “Yeah, me too. At least all the businesses nearby are taking people in for shelter, right?” She kept her voice hopeful, trying to brighten the mood. “You wanna play a game to kill the time? 20 questions? I spy?”

Eyebrows scrunching at the stranger talking to him in quiet disbelief, nodding his head in acknowledgement to her words. Gently sliding a cookie towards her before diving back into the new cookie in front of him. Trying to mimic the looks of the girl to the best of his ability, bored and interested in a new challenge. She was right, there was no limit anywhere to see so they didn’t really have a right to say anything. Once he was done he presented the girl with the new cookie, slightly proud of this one. “Yeah, you’re right. They should of put a limit if they wanted to complain or glare at me.”

As he slid a cookie her way, she admired it with a tilt of her head and a smile. “You’re not in the gingerbread house contest, are you? ‘Cause if you are... The rest of us really need to step up our game,” she complimented with a nod. She smiled as he presented his next cookie to her. “They look too good to even eat! How did you get so good at this?” She asked, glancing in the worker’s direction again, who seemed to be giving her dirty looks now. “Should we fight him to get him off our backs?” She was joking, but also pretty serious. What kind of human was against excessive cookie decorating? “I don’t think he’d know what was coming for him if we planned a surprise attack.”

a break sounded perfect. so perfect, in fact, that lil’s hardly done agreeing before chip is closing her math text book and tossing it to the other side of the bed. at the mention of food chip smiles brightly. cocking his head to the side as he pretends to weigh the idea. “room service?” he asks, looking over at the hotel phone. “or,” he looks back at her with a bright, excited smile. “wanna go out and grab something from this really spot not too far from here?” as much as he knows he should probably stay inside so they don’t run the risk of being spotted (and mobbed) by fans, he kind of hopes lil is willing to head outside. being cooped up in the room all day probably wasn’t helping either of them. 

Lil was willing to chip in on some room service, but she had to admit, the two of them were probably going to go stir crazy if they stayed in the hotel any longer. So, as Chip suggested going somewhere to eat, Lil nodded her head eagerly. “That sounds great; I think some fresh air will do us good,” she agreed with a smile. “Should we bring anything with us?”
