Tearing up, unable to hold it still, as the speakers spoke in place of the now dead thief. “I love you–”“I love you.” Spoke back as the short three worded message ended abruptly. Shakily pressed the button to listen to it again. “I love you–”“I love you too.” How could he not?Again. “I love you–”

“Barou, I love you.” Love to him was simple. Trust. Warmth. A sense of belonging. 

Dropped the phone, panic set in as he quickly picked it back up, pressing the button once more. “I –ve y—-”“I love you. I love you. I love you.” Don’t leave me. Ever. “I love you.”
