#THIS SCENE #on any other show this would have been so boring #it would have been all about stupid masculinity and blah blah who’s gonna win #but this scene #these men are the right hands of the Devil #and they both know it #the only difference is that Anthony has walked farther than Link into Hell #and he’s telling him what the road might look like #this scene was brilliant (via)

#the thing i love about this show #is that it never presupposes social ideals of what it means to be [insert stereotype here] #it purely asks the question of what it means to be human #and the complexities of existence and human relationships and the impact we have on one another #as the absolute best of science fiction does #so when two men sit down to have a conversation #it’s not a lecture on ‘here’s what it’s like to be a man here’s what it means to be a man’ #’here’s what it takes to be the dude’ #or what have you #it’s ‘here’s how far loyalty goes’ #’here’s what tying yourself to another human can lead to’ #it doesn’t ask what qualities you have to put you in that chair #it asks how far you’re willing to go before you end up in that chair #this show is on a whole other level and the meta on it would be overkill if it was any other show #but it’s this show with these writers and these actors #and so instead of it being essays on the meaning of tiny glances or pulling rabbits out of hats and thinking they’re clues #(which we still do because it’s fun and not above that) #it’s analysis of a carefully laid narrative where nothing is by accident and everything has meaning #being a part of this fandom is a pleasure because everyone making the show treats it with the utmost respect #it is made with planning and devotion to continuity and characters and story #there’s no such thing as a coincidence and as a result we get to discuss small moments like this and it doesn’t feel like grasping for narrative meaning #it feels like a reward because yes you are looking in the right places and drawing the right conclusions from conversations that other shows would have thrown away #and that’s IMPORTANT (via)

#oh absolutely #when i say i’m deeply in love with the nolan brothers is because things like this #this tv show #its episodes always with deep existencial discussions about human relations and emotions #all inside a fictional world (how much fictional actually) where machines rule the streets #and always without losing the sense of a good paced narrative #well written plots #and funny moments #and heartbreaking moments #and those precious ones when you just can’t blink because the acting #the music #the scenario #the scene transitions #are all so on point you just can’t afford to miss a second of it #and THAT’S why i watch tv shows for #for this kind of feeling #and person of interest hasn’t let me down in three and a half seasons #i’m just glad i decided one day to start watching this tv show #i was missing so much (via)

I don't know how many poi fans watch it with captions on but there's one episode where bear barks and the captions say "barks in German" and it's like, thanks for trying to be specific, but actually it's well established that bear actually speaks Dutch, not German. fix it.
