“Well I mean, you can’t really go wrong with top shelf liquor…” He chuckled. Swirling the brown liquid around in his glass before taking a sip, he grabbed his phone to check the time. “Two something – almost three. If you had a hot date tonight then I’m pretty sure you missed it and owe somebody a card.”

❝ you also can’t go wrong when treating yourself–❞ setting her glass back down, she begins to pick through the tiny bowl of trail mix before her. ❝ HA!❞ comical laughter manages to slip past the woman's lips. she wasn’t sure what was more humorous. the fact that he was spot on or the idea of her giving someone a card for standing them up. ❝ if she was ever so lucky. trust me, my silence will come across much better than any card. ❞

“Just a little after one.” Aubree said as she laid back on her couch. “We drank through all the good thing and now that’s all that’s left.”

❝ we’ve definitely been burning the midnight oil–❞ remy muses upon slumping back into her chair. ❝ isn’t funny how the cheap stuff manages to always come across as the underdog at the end of the night when we’ve demolished most of everything....hmm let’s play a drinking game. ❞ 

Lennox cocked her head to the side as Remy spoke, letting out a laugh at the brunette’s words. “That you do.” She agreed, taking a peek at her watch frowning slightly at how much time had passed already. “Ya know, you really don’t need to know. Seems like you really lose track of time when you’re in my company, uh?” She teased. “Ditch whatever you’re supposed to be doing and just spend the day with me, you know you always have more fun when you do that.”

❝ i’m convinced that i was a bartender in my past life. think about it, this taste palette combined with my culinary skills. it’s everything.❞ she muses with much emphasis. ❝ i call that the lennox effect. time doesn’t even exist when around you huh? that’s semi dangerous when i think about it.❞  obligation plagued the woman often, and on this account she had somehow got roped into a blind date on account of her mother.  ❝–well---playing hooky with you is always a win win. also theres no chance you’ll attempt to grope me ❞

“You might have a good taste in alcohol but I’m guessing that you don’t have good time management skills. It’s a quarter to ten.”

❝ hey, hey, hey--i wouldn’t go as far as saying that. sometimes i like to carelessly get lost in the moment on purpose and project that i have a life outside of work. it works sometimes.❞ 

The club manager quickly took a look around the half-empty club, to check if it was her the brunette was addressing.“… So I take it you like the new whiskey we ordered from Scotland?” Layla offered a slight smile, tucking hair behind her ear. “Umm– 5ish. In the morning.”

the corner of her lips curve upward as a bright smile graces her features. ❝ damn straight.❞ she responds upon setting down her glass.. ❝ those scots know their whiskey and have that smokiness down to a t.. ❞  she notes. ❝–bullshit. i haven’t been in here that long have i.❞

“Aren’t we fuckin’ all?” God he really hated bar talk sometimes, or well, most times. “If that was Jameson you were slingin’ back then sure thing, doll.” Cain shrugged and took a gulp of his Smithwick’s pint. “Check your watch or fuckin’ phone.”

nodding her head, she couldn’t help but agree with the other. ❝ doll--❞ the brunette scoffs, and in that moment she knew he was one of those. ❝ jameson is decent but i’m having more of a connemara kind of day.❞ a hollow laugh manages to escape her as she shoots the other a half idle smirk. ❝ anyone ever tell you that you’re the most least helpful asshole around? i think you even deserve a gold start for it. ❞

Archer almost didn’t hear the question, and although he heard it, he answered on autopilot. The paramedic’s mind was elsewhere, lingering intensely on the past and festering the nightmarish image of a mangled infant’s body, the one that he’d so desperately tried to save and so devastatingly failed. It took the man a moment, lips cupping his own liquor in efforts to drown out the perturbing vision. He felt an odd knot in the pit of his abdomen. “Eighteen-hundred,” he answered absentmindedly, through a mumble, then sighed against his glass and tipped the liquor back. He felt like he could scream, or vomit, or both.

the brunettes glance juggled between the male and her glass. with the quickness remy polishes off the liquid that once filled her glass. she shifts to face him fully before continuing to speak. ❝ and i have somehow managed to have two more hours left with my babysitter. this must be a record. ❞ it had been ages since remy managed to have some downtime. a piece of her wished to be home with her son ethan while another piece of her knew she needed one more drink to wash the long day away. the look on archers face was definitely emitting something worth asking about.  it was a look she often seen in the eyes of others most days.❝ long day?❞

George let out a light laugh as he took a swig from his beer and sat down at the table. “Being a creature of habit also makes you nice and easy to find, Rem,” he pointed out as he looked at his watch. “It’s just gone 10, you got somewhere to be?”

❝ who says that wasn’t my plan after all?❞  readjusting herself from where she sat she tips her head towards the other. ❝ maybe even just looking for you.❞ she tosses out playfully. ❝–yikes❞ she sighs to herself. ❝ had somewhere to be. my mother is a fan of playing match maker. you’d think she’d realize i am the most resilient of the beaucanon bunch. joe--john...whoever her is...they don’t know it yet but, i did them a favor. ❞  

“Remy I swear all we do is drink and eat cake” The brunette mused with a little laugh as she grinned at her friend. “But you do have great taste in alcohol”

❝ true, but dammit evie we look so damn good while doing it.❞  she tosses a smirk towards the other. ❝ blame my grandfather. the man knew how to introduce a gal’ to good whiskey. then again wine does taste better with sweets.❞

“Uhm, excuse me, I was wondering if you can point me to where I can get something to eat? Nothing fancy, fast food would be okay. I’m just new here and I don’t know any place to go.” Marissa asked sheepishly at the stranger she talked to.

it was as though her resting bitch face melted away ever so swiftly. the stranger before her didn’t know it yet but remy was such a food enthusiast she pre planned what she would eat for lunch throughout the week every sunday. even going as far as keeping an itinerary featuring time frames. “ nothing fancy but fast---” thinking to herself her eyes fall back upon the woman. “ what are you in the mood for?...burgers, chinese--thai?”

“Some kid called the show today and asked me to prom.”

”I don’t know what’s more disturbing about it: the fact that I’m actually considering going or that he implied that he gives great head.”

neatly shaped brows quirk upward to reveal an amused expression. “hey---to each their own but lets be very clear, the last bit can definitely be dubbed as borderline predatory.” she shakes her head. "gotta’ question how crucial the kid thought it was to let you in on that info. still--prom. let me guess, ruffles and children are your thing?” she partially jokes.
