            in response to the entrance of the other, Kyoko couldn’t            help but leap up from her spot on the couch, breathing          somewhat heavily — though that was mainly from the fear          she felt. she’d never seen a ghost before — of course, she        would much rather see a ghost than a witch, but ( that ) was          beside the point — taking a few cautious steps away from the         spirit to try to give herself space to compose herself.
