“you know, i’m glad that i’m not afton. afton is awfully plain. so plain that he is boring. i don’t know what you see in him, chelsea. such an accomplished young woman.” felix teased. he didn’t need human girls. emphasis on the plurality. he needed wanted a human girl.

“you take that back felix. i could easily make you emotionally bonded to afton for life if i wanted to.” she smirked at felix laughing softly. chelsea knew that what felix was saying wasn’t wrong. if it wasn’t for chelsea’s ability being so important afton wouldn’t even be in the volturi.

“when it snows, the fun really begins. when the first snow falls, we are all that closer to christmas!” esme beamed. 

“we should have a snowball fight like we did last year, that was a lot of fun.” the blonde told her adoptive mother. 

“come on, chelsea. no one is immune to my charm. you can’t deny it for much longer. soon you will find yourself swooning.” felix smirked. he always thought it fun to poke and prod at his fellow volturi member.

“sorry, unless you magically turn into afton, that is never happening. i’m sorry, you don’t have afton’s body, face, or anything really. maybe you should go back to trying to swoon human girls. they are really easy i’ve been told. maybe they’ll actually think you are attractive.”

“you know, after a while, climbing up trees and running across the country and back in under three hours can kind of get boring after you’ve been doing it for like, fifty years, bri. plus, my only friend is in school all day.” elly laughed. “do you have any ideas of how to fill my days?”

“i bet i’m not your only friend el, and if i am, you need to make new friends.” she teased. when it came to vampires that weren’t part of her family, brianna couldn’t stand any of them but elly. “i don’t know. if i was a vampire i would go around fucking things up.” she laughed.

“all good points. my place it is! i think dad is out with charlie anyways. so unless some wolves are hanging around, which i doubt, we will have have a quiet house. so maybe we can put on a movie as well.” jacob smiled and began walking back to his house with nessie tucked in his arm.

“also because of the treaty we don’t have to worry about having to deal with any vampire coming and ruining our day.” she said. the hybrid stayed close to jacob, ever since more vampires came to forks, renesmee had been more afraid to walk around forks. she never knew if one of her family’s enemies would try to attack her.

“mental images that i did not need.” teddy laughed and smacked his palm against his forehead. “burning my retinas now.” 

“you didn’t actually see it though, uncle teddy. i did. so if anyone has the mental image it is me.” she said with a soft laugh.

“have you seen a girl about yay high?” charlotte lifted her hand up around her shoulder. “of a guy who always looks like he hates his life?” she laughed softly at her own jokes.

“i don’t know, i might’ve seen her.” alice said with a smile. “this is forks, there are quite a few guys who look like they hate their lives around here.” she joked.

“it is such a lovely day, isn’t it?” fall had to be one of esme’s favorite times of the year.

“it is, fall is a really nice time of year. and surprising enough it hasn’t snowed yet.” rosalie said.

“you cannot tell me that you are immune to this smile.” felix grinned at the other. “this smile has gotten me out of plenty of trouble.”

“maybe with aro or some girl you are trying to get with it works, but i can honestly tell you that i’m immuned to it.”

“i bet that i can beat you in an arm wrestling competition.” emmett smirked at the other, raising a brow in a challenge.

“and i know that you would win in an arm wrestling competition, emmett. i don’t think there is any sort of wrestling competition that you would lose in.”

“i don’t know how you can’t see that meeting a puppy has been the highlight of my day. it is quite simple. fluffy puppies equal happiness.” elly smiled brightly. her mood was soaring higher than it had in a long time.

“puppies are cute and everything, but it’s jut hard to believe that puppies could be a highlight of your day. wasn’t there any like fun vampire things that you did today? i mean, you can see puppies any day for the rest of your life.”

“honestly,  i  wouldn’t  be  surprised  with  carlisle  did  an  examination  and  found  more  than  one  stomach.”  he  snaked  his  free  arm  around  her  waist.  “i  will  take  your  word  for  it.  high  school  on  the  res  was  much  more  bearable.  do  you  want  to  cook  them  at  home  —  mine  or  yours  —  or  go  out  to  eat,  my  treat?”

“i wouldn’t either.” renesmee replied with a soft laugh. “but i don’t think he will do an examination on you until everything is known about my species.” she added. “well, if we go out we might be starred out for eating so much food and at my home we have to worry about my family spying on us. so, i think the best choice is your place.”

“i  would  have  thrown  myself  off  a  cliff  right  then  and  there.  i  give  you  props  for  surviving.”  teddy  laughed  softly.

“i barely survived, especially after he ripped the back of the speedo on a stick in the ocean.” thalia replied.

“that’s  good  news,  at  least.”  teddy  grinned.  “but  a  perfect  memory  isn’t  always  a  good  thing.  you  will  now  inevitably  remember  every  single  thing  —  good  and  bad.”

“i know, like how i will always remember the old man i saw on the beach yesterday, in fifty degrees was wearing a tiny speedo. i wanted to burn my eyeballs after that sight.” she laughed.

“i  will  always  be  a  growing  boy  no  matter  if  i  am  stuck  as  a  seventeen  year  old.”  jacob  frowned.  but  the  frown  was  eventually  taken  over  by  a  grin.  “i  could  definitely  go  for  a  burger.”

“or maybe wolves have like secretly ten stomachs.” she teased with a smile. renesmee interlaced their fingers, and pulled herself closer to jacob. “perfect, because i was at school all day, and i’m so hungry. high school food is seriously the worst.”
