I don't know why but this video makes me so happy. Lennon will always be my favorite Beatle but George Harrison was still the bomb.
Harry Potter: Magic in the Details
I just found this amazing article on Buzzfeed that explains all of the amazing nuances of the graphic design of Harry Potter. The designers of Harry Potter took the amazing world that JK Rowling described in her books and increased it tenfold.
The designers created over 300 graphics for various aspects of the film! From the advertisements in the Daily Prophet to the packaging for the stores in Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and Knockturn Alley. One of the artists even hand drew several copies of the Marauder's Map, and they made her handwriting into the typeface used in the credits of the third movie (my personal favorite movie, but I digress). This team invented tons of new products that Rowling didn't even mention in the book! If only my little ten year old self knew that one day I would want to design packaging for a living. There are few things I wouldn't do to have that job!!
