It’s as if you can’t have one without the other. I have found that keeping my wounds covered only breeds delusion, hurt, and shame- but displacing the pain into art sheds light on it and becomes a powerful catalyst for self-awareness and healing. It’s a way of giving language to the ineffable, creating an outlet for what resides in our innermost depths- and a little bit of magic, I think.
