'i' am but a thought process
(un-responsible for any former thought processes)
'i' am a single neural spark,
living and dying at rapid intervals.
every second 'i' am born again;
every second, thrust into the light,
a flailing, crying newborn
perpetually surprised by my reality.
'i' inherit experiences
which contribute to the illusion of 'i.'
the illusion is paramount to survival
of the future 'i's,' should they want it.
'i' am a temporary monarch
a permanent vacationer
burdened by experience and memory
illusion and survival
gratitude and terror
