I really like the Rewired AU because it's something I can see canonically happening.

Like, don't get me wrong---Bill is a very entertaining and interesting character. He's also an abusive piece of shit. He's rewired Ford's brain before, and he would do it again in a heartbeat. He is the villain of the story for a reason.
