I’ll preface this by saying TERIGGER WARNING DOR ALCHOLFOP ANDCDRUFS AND SESX AND ASLO DENPADOKEI DOESNT SUPPORT BAD DRUGS DONT DO THEM okay so I don’t usually have the mirai mikus also take the personalities of their other songs from that year so this with two of the most graceful mirai designs is already great. But I also start thinking.. there has to be more right? I wouldn’t be surprised if Palace’s Buriki no dance and Konton boogie were also about drugs. This is now 242525 substance abuse Yuri. And there’s gotta be at least one about smoking right? Anyway
I feel like what you described is still all done in a pretty chill way, like yeah they both have hell in their minds (hime’s enjoying her state, wawi not so much). Apart from when they start dancing (dances to HIASOBI and doping dance are INSANE) but they have to strip to do that (Wawi’s outfit is very complicated and bulky) which is probably what causes the Yuri. Also Hime won’t get off the floor (reference to Hiasobi’s performance). And the whole thing happens without either of them acknowledging each other’s addictions. Wawi is probably too sad or even drugged to see that Hime is drinking (maybe it wouldn’t be visible at all, she has very high tolerance, it’s only expressed through her bad decisions)
This is a really sad way of reading it too but imagine that they’re only both addicted to have an accurate persona for their performances and that these songs existed beforehand and are supposed to be inspiring them… maybe orihime is an alien (at least from space) and doesn’t understand how this is at all a bad thing before she gets too drunk to have it explained to her, and on the other hand, wawi is a human who knows this is terrible but she’s in no situation to stand up for herself… And yes they do meet because Wawi spent so much time looking up at the starts and the galaxy that Hime comes from. Since doping dance isn’t specific about what substance the character is taking, hime switches wawi to alcohol, which is better, but Y’know the ideal is to have her not on anything at all, and Wawi still isn’t happy with or forgiving herself.
I was also thinking if Wawi were to do choose to do something on her own it would absolutely be weed I think, maybe accidentally? she’s got that hippy dippy (I’m quoting the Lego movie) vibe. Doping dance does mention hallucinations but I always assumed it was coke or crack for some reason. Ig it still fits. They can be like chain smoker cat.
Hime and Wawi do have chemistry beyond that. Wawi’s looking at the sky of her endless night in the name of it, seeing Orihime’s lustrous galaxy… Wawi’s got the lake (probably just a bath, pop off depression bath, I’m thinking like the smoking tub in MeMe from milgram) that puts out the burning fires of the sun and stars…
I think she’d help her but someone has to save them tho. Once again Denpadokei does not support drug use so. Probably ends up being the last mirai miku whose opening song wasn’t possibly about drugs, Hero from 2023. And yeah a Hero is fitting. But it does make me think like… wawi is saved by orihime (endless coke night into sexy drinking party… sounds like gimme x gimme lol) who is saved by Paresu (the supplier of all these substances, her theme is travelling around places Y’know, and her opening songs could additionally be about alcohol… plus that’s the year powder/coke miku performed too). Paresu who is saved by Hero (she makes them all stop doing drugs, honestly the 3D flower bit in the HERO MV has a psychedelic vibe, you could say that’s foreshadowing lol). And then Hero is saved by Tensu because if she hadn’t believed in magic Hero wouldn’t have been able to be a Hero see
In my headcannons (and because I view all the songs as individual characters, usually) this is something that Hiasobi Miku keeps pushing on them, which causes doping dance Miku paranoia about how she’s sending them all down the same downward spiral since HIASOBI miku invilved her. But I do think Orihime could have done drugs in the past since space is very crazy like that. But like, space drugs. And Wawi sometimes jokes about taking drugs (which is surprising and for a second you’d believe her, since Wawi is so soft spoken and doesn’t usually joke) when what she’s actually referring to is prescribed medicine and antidepressants and stuff. Paresu might have done party drugs before but she probably doesn’t know herself, oh no
Ranking Mirai Miku’s on whether they do drugs was not on my 2026 bingo card but here we are. Also Hero has done them before but is now a big activist against them. Tensu has had so much sugar once that it could be classified as substance abuse. Ohana does shrooms. Okay I need to stop myself now sorry.
