âYour fingertips once grazed over my face to brush back my hair from my eyes. Your rough hands, though much bigger somehow fit so perfectly with mine. Your touch lingers. Scientists say every 2 years every skin cell on your body will have been replaced on your body. How sad is it that in 2 years it will be like you never existedâŚâ

Marie, Job, Sofia and I (thatâs us, our little hostfamily) drove down to Killarney for four days in the easter holidays, a few days after Mama, Papa and Theo flew back to Austria. We stayed in a hostel with lovely bunk beds and themed rooms. (we got the kiwi room âŁ) We rented bikes and drove through the National Park. What you can see on the pictures is the old monastery of Muckross. What I found most fascinating was the yew tree in the court, growing in the heart of the monastery. Iâd love to have a magnolia or ginko tree growing in my house. Wouldnât you? :-)

In my experience, blogs are like diaries. You start them with the best intentions, telling yourself youâll be consequent and documenting EVERYTHING, to capture it all, so none of your newly collected light-bulb moments and epiphanies slip away. And then, when youâve actually got a busy week, where youâre doing stuff and your mind is occupied, where you really would have some interesting things to share, youâre just so busy DOING that you donât find the time to capture. Balance is the key here, guys. Seek balance! I obviouly havenât fully internalized it yet. Anyway, then you look forward to the days on which you donât have any plans, to catch up on what happened and you write for hours and hours. Well, Iâve got a lot of catching up to do.. Okay, here we go, letâs do this! Enthusiasm! Iâm aware I posted my last entry in the easter holidays in march.. *gnashing of teeth* That was shortly before my family came over. Oh man, Iâm sitting here chuckling with the memory of those days. We honestly spent a lot of our time snuggling. :-) You know what guys, Iâm just gonna stock you up with pictures and comment on them. I suppose that way itâs more fun for you.
⤠update: just went into the bathroom and when i entered my room again I stepped into an invisible cloud of the scent of lush cosmetic products. Iâve been mangoed!

i think one of the coolest things about my exchange year is that I met a person named ruby mabel swordfish
i like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it Iâve always loved watching people sleep. That sounds a bit creepy, I know, but itâs just fascinating to see someone in their most natural state, their most honest form of being.

did I ever tell you about our hamster scubbers?
Nezi and Raquel were smashing it at lunchtime :-)
So I spent Saint Patrickâs Day in Dublin, with Ruby and Nezrina, (beautiful, beautiful human beings, inside and out) to see the parade and be part of the festivity, which is supposed to be all about commemorating Saint Patrick, but, you know.. :-) Most of all itâs a big party, a reason to celebrate and drink and amuse oneself, where people wear green, dress up as leprechauns, etc. Background information about Saint Patrick: He was the bishop who brought christianity to Ireland. Legend has it that he also banished the snakes, but itâs very unlikely that there ever wouldâve been snakes here, due to the climate. Historians elucidate the snakes as a symbol for paganism. Saint Patrick, aka Maewyn Succat (that was his real name), used a shamrock to explain the holy trinity (the father, the son and the holy spirit). In case you were wondering why everybody associates Ireland with shamrocks. He himself wasnât actually irish though. :-) Isa and Luisa organised our own bus, which left Tuam at 06.00 in the morning. Drowsy and with under-eye circles we started our daytrip. At the rising of the sun we were painting our faces with little shamrocks and the flag of ireland. (did u know? the green part of the flag symbolises the catholics and ireland, the orange bit represents the protestants and the white part inbetween stands for peace between the two.) Ruby thought outside of the box and drew a little seaweed on my left cheek. Very artistic. :-) We had a wonderful breakfast in a coffeehouse, including porridge with cinnamon and honey, pancakes with lemon and sugar, yoghurt with banana & oats, coffee & tea. Itâs a special year to be here, from a historical view: In 1916 Ireland gained its independence from Britain, and this year, 2016, itâs the centenary. Last week in school, on proclamation day, we had four leaving certs holding impressive speeches about Irelandâs achievements in the past 100 years & how they imagine their countrieâs future. Furthermore, all the students went out to raise the irish flag and Mrs. Cosgrove and Mrs. Oâhara let fly two balloons that carried envelopes with the names and age of two kids that died in the easter rising rebellion. Then we sang the national anthem. I think irish sounds very elfish. Itâs beautiful. Sinne Fianna FĂĄil A tĂĄ fĂŠ gheall ag Ăirinn, buion dĂĄr slua Thar toinn do rĂĄinig chugainn FĂŠ mhĂłid bheith saor. Sean tĂr ĂĄr sinsir feasta NĂ fhagfar fĂŠân tiorĂĄn nĂĄ fĂŠân trĂĄil Anocht a thĂŠam sa bhearna bhaoil, Le gean ar Ghaeil chun bĂĄis nĂł saoil Le guna screach fĂŠ lĂĄmhach na bpilĂŠar Seo libh canaĂdh AmhrĂĄn na bhFĂann. Remember. Reflect. Re-imagine. Accoring to that, the theme of the parade of Saint Patrick Dayâs Festival 2016 was âImagine if...â. â click on the theme if you want to find out more. âOver half a million (510,000) people turned out to enjoy this yearâs St. Patrickâs Festival Parade in excellent weather conditions. The streets of Dublin were awash with colour as the 2016 Parade, themed Imagine If⌠was brought to life by Irelandâs leading pageant companies who dazzled with their artistic flair and creativity. Close to 3,000 performers participated in this yearâs Festival Parade.â Pictures shall follow. :-) xx
Today the girls and me had a really really nice picnic in Galway at the bay. Isa made scrumptious cinnamon swirls, Ann-Marie made salad with feta cheese, cucumber and tomatoes, Chiara made pasta, everybody contributed some food. There was a lot of it! It was a proper, big picnic. :-) The sun has been shining out of a cloudless sky for the past 6 days and we really enjoyed ourselves. Good vibes and good conversations and good-hearted girls. Iâm finding my people.! Thatâs super jazzy. We took a lot of polaroid pictures, some have now found a spot on my collage wall, others I gave to the girls as a gift. Eventually everything connects. (I kinda love you Nezrina ⤠) stay wild guys. all my love from ballymaryÂ
