There are so many words in the dictionary but none can describe that GODAWFUL excuse of a coming out scene? What the hell was that???? On everything I love, they did not have single queer on that team when they were writing the script, because I SWEAR, no gay person would have approved of that as a coming out scene for one of THE most important characters in the show (Yap incoming)! the thing that fries me the most about the "Will coming out scene" was how terrible the writing was. Will confessing to Joyce, having a heart to heart talk with her would have been perfect. Having Jonathan in there, and Mike, would have sufficed, it would have been a somber, emotional moment.But NOOO, the writers said: Fuck all that. Half of Hawkins should be witnessing this. Mind you, a good percent of the people in the room, he barely knows! I promise, 008, Murray, and Mr.Clarke didn't give a fuck. There was no need for all of them to be in there!!! It took away all of the meaning from that scene, It takes way the depth, the PURPOSE of that scene, and leaves nothing but second hand emberassment and making the once 'supposed to be heartfelt scene' And the worst part? He didn't even choose to confess! If you really think about it, the only reason he confessed was because he knew Vecna was going to use it against him! He didn't want to give Vecna something to use against him, so he had to be vulnerable in advance to stop V-diddy from using it as a way to manipulating him! So in short, he was forced to confess? What kind of bullshit is that??? Then they had the AUDACITY to dumb down will's feelings for Mike talking about some "He's my Tammy" NO THE FUCK HE'S NOT!!! Tammy and Mike are not similar bro! 0 correlation whatsoever. Tammy was a hallway crush to Robin, Mike was EVERYTHING to Will. They knew each other inside and out, that's how Will knows the right words to say to Mike to cheer him up. Holy shit Not only that, that scene single handedly assisanated all the development from the previous episodes, Will's character, mike's character, for what reason? Are we so deadass? Genuinely, what do the duffer brothers gain from this? NOBODY IS SATISIFIED??? atp, just give will an epilouge bf so he can at the very least be happy. I have a little hope for byler in the finale season, but there is no way they are going to fit all that in without it feeling rushed and overwhelming. It takes extremely good writing to do that and you can tell the Duffer brothers aren't known for that. All I want is for will to be happy but knowing the duffle brothers? They are probably going to kill will off. The only way i'm coping right now is with the belief that the writing for volume 2 was bad on purpose so volume 3 feels inherently better. But yk what? It's my fault for trusting a mainstream show, it's my fault for investing hours into this. I rest my case
