Knowledge is Power

He nods, pulling out a book for himself to read. “As long as you have clean hands.” he says with a half-smile.

The demon gives a quiet chuckle at their excitement before turning back to the cookies and eating another. “You know,” he begins, sounding muffled with a full mouth, before pausing to swallow. “You could always come back another day.” he says. “I’ll still be here.”

There’s various books, but most of them obscure--nothing that could be found in a normal library, even in Hell.

He stands there for a moment before grabbing one of each, and slowly eating it. He felt incredibly awkward and somewhat childish eating cookies in front of someone. 

He nods, then hesitates for a moment. “Do you mind if I try one of each?”

He tilts his head with a half-smile. “Which ones are your favorite?”

He sighs, looking up at the ceiling. “I suppose.” he says tiredly. “Bears are simply creatures of instinct, after all.”

Knowledge raises his head, glancing at the visitor and hesitating for a moment. “...What kind of cookies?”

He leans back in his chair, a lazy grin on his face. “Quite a bit, actually. Anything in particular you wanted to know?”

The demon raises an eyebrow. “Okay...? It’s not going to happen.” Him, fighting? How barbaric.

The demon stares for a long few seconds, then looks away, pretending that no one had spoken at all.

The demon glares for a moment or two, then sighs. "Fine, if you're not going to actually tell me anything, then please get out."

The demon raised an eyebrow. "What information about the Archangels could you have that every media source doesn't have already? Please, that's not even a hard subject to learn about."

He raises his eyebrows. "Impressed is a strong word. I wouldn't say so. Maybe... 'respect'? There have been some I've respected."

He gave an exasperated sigh. "Fine. To be perfectly honest I can imagine why. It was an expression, obviously." He looked at the visitor directly. "What I really meant is that it was silly and pointless for you to come back." he said before leaning back again. "Do whatever you came here to do, then." he said with a tone of finality before going back to his book.

The demon shrugged. "Yes, but I can't imagine why you would like my company." He gave an amused smile. "I haven't exactly been welcoming to you."

He looks up dryly. "Did you forget something?" he asks before turning back to an encyclopedia he had been leafing through.
