The Demise of Taste
@demiseoftaste
Greetings to my fellow curious and concerned citizens- It has come to my attention that our immediate surroundings face imminent danger of completely losing all true substance leaving only shells to be judged solely on superficial traits. This will not be a dissertation on "phonies" but rather applauding those who refuse to resign and those who shamelessly "drink gin and tonics in the winter for chrissake!" This will be my personal commitment to never relinquish my expectation that taste should come into play in all of our daily activities and experiences. Take time to soak in all that has essence and refuse what does not have what it takes to penetrate. It’s essential to have standards, to have passion. As one of my favorite food writers says, “You need passion, curiosity, a full spectrum of appetites. You need to yearn for things.” Do you yearn?
