Hi there! Lulu here with an intro post for this Tumblr page!
Some info about myself:
You can call me Lulu or Lu (and use any pronouns)
My first language isnât English, so you might find grammar mistakes when I post something, Iâm confident in my English level but hey stuff happens sometimes
Iâm kind of a Multifandom writer, whatever I post is about stuff Iâm currently interested in
I also write for my pure entertainment, expect fem/masc/nb reader inserts, I usually go fully neutral and not too descriptive on the reader insert so anyone can feel included
I donât really write NSFW but I might try one of these days, if itâs the case itâll probably go to my A03 account (itâs already created but still empty until Iâm sure about posting there lol)
I hope that authorâs block doesnât come for my ass after I start posting because I hate it when that happens.
I think this covers pretty much everything, if thereâs any update Iâll just post another thing to say it. Have a nice day!!

Hello Pitt nation! Last night I decided to start doing a draft about a possible Jack Abbot x Reader fic, one thing led to the other and the âshort imagine thingyâ (thatâs literally the name in the notepad file) ended up being 1.1K words long. Oopsies? I know it might not be a lot (Iâve seen a lot of +5K word fics in here) but I think itâs pretty good for being the first time Iâve written something in months. And honestly Iâm not that good at making extra long chapters, so this is better than nothing!
Disclaimer: I actually havenât watched The Pitt because Iâm broke af and canât afford HBO, but Iâve seen plenty of scenes online, clips of interviews with the actors talking about their characters and read my fair share of fics. Iâm going by pure vibes too, so Iâm sorry if something can turn OOC for a character!
I also want to mention that I donât use AI in my fics, the random explanation about coffee making in the story comes from my own experience at work, and if you happen to see something between these dashes â- -â is simply because Iâve been reading/writing fanfiction since I was a kid and itâs engraved in my soul to use them sometimes. I know the connotations they have nowadays but rest assured, I donât use any of that stuff for my writing.
With all of that being said, enjoy this (for now) one-shot, which includes the first time meeting him. Proofread by my own eyes, there could be typos or bad grammar, sorry âď¸
Content warnings: None in this chapter, thereâs an age gap between Reader (around late 20s/early 30s) and Abbot, they arenât dating yet but if this turns into a series or something itâs something to be taken into account.
Featuring: GN!Barista!Reader, Shen and his coffee addiction and Jack Abbot.
Note: For those who donât know, a POS is the screen/system where servers take orders in restaurants, cafĂŠs, etc.
âââââââââââ
It was hard to believe how dumb people were sometimes, well, it wasnât for you of course. You were very aware of how much stupidity a single person could carry on their body.
âCan I have the ham and cheese sandwich but without the cheese? Iâm lactose intolerant.â
âSo just a ham sandwich then?â
âNo, a ham and cheese sandwich, but without the cheese.â
That was an actual conversation youâve had with one of your customers, it was barely half past 8 in the morning and people were already lacking common sense.
You were sick and tired of this, you definitely didnât get paid enough and the stale donuts they let you take home at the end of the day werenât all that worth it either. Sometimes you thought about quitting, but then again you had been lucky to land this job in a place relatively close to your apartment.
You couldnât risk losing the only stable thing in your life because of dumb people, but if someone asked one more time for a sickeningly sweet coffee that was 85% sugar and whatever crap that had become trendy this month you were going to snap.
The bell on top of the door chimed, announcing the arrival of a new customer, you looked up, curved your lips into the by now perfected customer smile and took a breath to greet them when your eyes landed on him.
âMotherfu-â you stopped yourself from finishing that when you saw that John Shen, your regular and the bane of your existence as a barista, wasnât alone this morning. No, this time he had come along with one of his coworkers judging by the jacket thrown over black scrubs. He was older, with graying curls and a hint of stubble, you had definitely never seen this man before. Shen usually came with a woman after finishing his shift and you knew he worked on nights because after so many times coming around the same hour you just had to ask.
âIâve missed you too.â Shen said with a smirk as he leaned against the counter with that sort of look, the one that said âYouâre never getting rid of meâ. If he didnât leave you such good tips you wouldâve asked Wendy to cover this one for you. Donât get it twisted, you didnât hate the guy, but those coffees- if they could even be called that- were tedious to make. And in this job tedious meant taking time, and taking time meant less people able to attend customers and get their orders. In other words, a small chaos waiting to unfold.
âIf this is the kind of greeting youâre getting I donât even want to know what kind of stuff you ask for.â The man next to Shen spoke, the comment making your lips curve upwards faintly despite yourself. Okay, that had been funny, probably the highlight of the morning so far.
Shen simply shrugged and offered an âI need my sugarâ as a response.
You turned to look at the other man, the smile on your lips feeling a bit more real than before. âWould you like to take a look at the drinks menu before ordering or are we feeling creative this morning?â You asked, your fingers ready to type out whatever thing this man would conjure. If he was Shenâs friend you were already anticipating a monstrosity.
However, the words that came out of his mouth a moment after were a godsend, seriously, you couldâve wept right there if you werenât in the middle of your shift.
âJust a plain black coffee is alright, thank you.â
âNo, thank you, for making my shift a little easier.â You said right back at him as you typed on the POS. âCould you give me a name for the order please?â
âJack,â He said while already taking out his wallet and everything, Shen didnât even try to stop him. âAnd youâre very welcome, I guess that my urge to help make peopleâs lives a bit easier is there even after the shift is over.â
âIs that from a movie or something?â Shen asked with a raised brow as he looked at Jack.
âOr something.â He shrugged nonchalantly while grabbing his card.
After Jack paid for the drinks you got to work, moving to the station at the back while one of your coworkers stayed near the counter in case anyone else came in or needed something. It took you a few minutes, but Shenâs nightmare of a drink was finally ready and you could now get to prepare Jackâs coffee. The motions were familiar for you at this point after so many years doing the same thing.
Empty out the portafilter, make sure itâs clean, get a measure of ground coffee, level it out and tamp it before brushing off the excess around the edges, lock the damn thing into the group head and press the button. Oh, and you also checked that the cup was in the right place, you didnât want boiling hot coffee spraying everywhere.
It was easy enough.
You approached the counter with their orders, setting the cups down before grabbing a small paper bag and putting a couple of cookies inside. âGot your order ready Shen!â You called out, both men approaching the counter to grab their cups.
âI donât think weâve ordered these.â Jack said as he looked inside of the bag with a confused crease on his brow. âYouâre giving out sweet treats today? Whatâs the occasion?â Shen asked while already reaching to grab one of the cookies.
âGotta celebrate the only normal customer Iâve had so far,â you replied with a shrug, leaning your arms on the counter and looking at them with a faint smile. âBesides, those are the only good ones left and Iâd rather give them to you than to that one annoying woman that comes every afternoon.â Just thinking about her made you want to shiver.
âArenât you going to get in trouble for this?â Jack asked, his voice showing a hint of concern about you.
âIâll just pay for them with my tips or something, donât worry about it.â You assured him with a smile before stepping back and moving to the other side of the counter as the door opened, some customers walking in ready to order. âHave a nice day, oh, and be sure to come back soon.â You told both men before turning to the newcomers.
They left shortly after, drinking their coffee in peace and enjoying the nice treat that you had given them. You were sure that Shen would be coming back, he always did, but you had just found yourself a new returning customer in Jack Abbot even if you didnât know it yet.
Something something insomniac Pope Cody dating hcs (to start off this blog with one of my favorite guys đ)
We know that canonically he doesnât sleep much, he stays up until late watching documentaries or just staring off to the night sky in the backyard.
It doesnât really change when you two start dating (much to your dismay). Even when you insist that he should get more sleep and rest because otherwise heâs going to end up crashing in one of the familyâs jobs, Pope just canât do it. Tiredness doesnât come to him.
But he tries, for you, he does. Pope stays in bed with you until he hears your breathing slow down and sees your body relax, a sign that youâre finally asleep. He did promise to keep you company after all (you thought that maybe if he stayed it would magically make his body get the memo and make him sleepy too, it didnât)
Pope does the same as every other night, go to the living room, plop down on the couch in front of the TV and put on whatever documentary theyâre replaying at this hour. Itâs wolves again, he loves these ones. Theyâre calming and familiar and he kind of relates to them (Craig made fun of him once because of that when they were younger and Pope retaliated by throwing out Craigâs weed stash)
Itâs around 2 in the morning when he hears your feet shuffling around the house, walking through the hallway and eventually stopping near the entrance to the living room, he doesnât need to turn around to know that you look all disheveled from just crawling out of bed. And he definitely doesnât move or try to make up an excuse when you walk up to him and wrap your arms around his neck.
He ends up lying down on the couch because you practically slumped over him (totally on purpose by the way), his arms wrap around your sleep-warm body and his head ends up nuzzling the crook of your neck as he tries to keep watching TV from this angle.
Somehow it starts to work. Pope doesnât know when it starts to happen, but the combination of your warm body against his own, your familiar scent (something that always manages to calm him down) and the sound of the narrator still rambling on the background start to make him feel drowsy, his eyelids begin to feel heavy until they close without him even noticing.
Needless to say he wakes up the next morning feeling well rested and you wake up feeling accomplished by making your boyfriend get more than three hours of sleep :)
