They could have been so great. Unfortunately, they’ve been reduced to fluffy, sleepy time cuddles every night. All comfort, no hurt bc ‘their characters have gone through so much, that it’s impossible to put them through more’.

POV: you’re a child soldier who has lost every one of your comrades and only find solace in your (abusive) sister to the point your brain is hardwired to view violence as love. Your attachment style is all the way fucked and a smile and kindness will make you fold in a way that’s alien and foreign to you. You are damaged to an extend you yourself can’t even comprehend.

POV: you’re a child idol who had sacrificed love, your reputation, and your body to achieve your dream. You feel on top of the world (minus your underlying anxiety and the fear that everything you’ve worked so hard for could be torn from under your feet), and you will stop at nothing to keep it that way. Manipulation, coercion, self destruction all to remain an idol.

It doesn’t help that, by themselves, Mukuro and Sayaka are GROSSLY misrepresented due to their complexity. I haven’t been on dangantwt (thank god) so I’m unsure of the specifics they think of Sayaka and Mukuro, but from what I remember, public opinion does not give sympathy to Sayaka.

I’m not going against headcanons (because those are not? Literal?) (IE I headcanon Sayaka has photoshoots with Junko, it isn’t canon nor a literal representation of those characters). If anything I want MORE headcanons. Think MORE about Ikuzono, understand that NEITHER of them are good, nor bad. They are grey in every aspect.

There’s actually a WONDERFUL fanfic that I think covers their personality nuisances and even elaborates on their backstories. It’s “Sing Me A Song Of Despair” by Despair_King on Wattpad. It is unfortunately abandoned but it’s still such a beautiful read. I highly recommend for a very nuanced read of Ikuzono!!!

 So basically, out of 2,129 responses:

⭐ The most popular selfship/MC ship is with Ronin (who could've seen that coming), and there are more people who selfship with the EXECUTIONER bot than with Vince or Ai Hua!

⭐ The top ships for each love interest:

Ronin = V (43.4%)

Angel = Misaki (35.9%)

Misaki = V, again (46.5%)

V = Ronin (43.8%)

⭐ And for the side characters, it's a lot clearer what the top ships are:

Feli = Luca (84.8%)

Luca = Feli (89.4%)

Vince = Ai Hua (92.2%)

Ai Hua = Vince (93.2%)

⭐ Every single duo ship was mentioned or chosen.

⭐ FeliLuca (or heatwaves) is the number 1 ship chosen as people's fave/top ship.

⭐ For poly ships, misaki/angel/feli got overall first place which I think was pretty surprising! And for ships that involve the MC, everyone wants to get in between either the exes or the lovers (or not lovers if you didn't do that).

⭐ Angel is the character most mentioned in the poly ships, and I also got surprised because I thought for sure it'd be Misaki or Ronin.
