I'll share everyone's favs first since they're, well, everyone's blorbos.
Spamton is supposed to be those black market dealers found in creepy alleyways hence the huge backpack he carries around at all times.
He also has a small tent he can pop up from his backpack rather than any one area he'd throw a store down. This allows him to bother people to the max and since no one (besides queen and the Swatchlings) even knows who he is, he does actually get a few customers, albeit also as fucked as him.
What he sells is just as grotesque as him. Organs in preserved jars, insects pinned to frames (still alive too), weird sculptures made from bones- and he makes it all himself.
I'll leave a little mystery on his appearance for now, but just know he didn't always look this way.
Tenna, rather than a show host is actually the main actor in his own plays. You know as tradition. Writing and then staring in your own plays, at least that's normal for him.
Dramas and tragedies are just about the only thing he allows performed and a loved one always dies horribly in one way or another, mimicking his grief for his dead partner.
The weather duo now represent happiness and sadness their permanent masks keeping them from feeling how they really want to.
Mike is, honestly the same Tenna is still just as if not more delusional and depressed in this AU so Mike would fill the same role. (Also every dice is black except for Battat who's bright pink and is ashamed of this case).
Also, the secret bosses as otherworldly entities while regular darkners and lightners represent differing alt subcultures.

At first the AU was going to only be about Alt subculture, it's rich history in fashion and music, and how the real point of alt is to step away from social norms and be yourself but overtime it morphed into a dark and gritty type that's pretty terrifying and scary to think about as a reality for these characters.
So it's both a political commentary and supernatural/horror AU type. Both parts left vague on purpose since the less I reveal the creepier it becomes.
Also the AU name is "Deltagloom".
(If I get more asks about it I'll share some art/design ideas I've whipped up so far)
