Della stood in her Junior Woodchuck Senior garb as she watched her son Je-Huey train for the Senior Woodchuck challenge. The Troop leader , Launchpad , was also watching. she was told that it was supposedly because the Woodchucks did not want her to help him too finish tasks too much. it was anxiety-inducing but not for the reason, one might think. she was anxious because of her developing feelings towards him. she had not gotten to the point where she had acted on these feelings and now was not a great time. it was probably not the best to flirt with a man when he son was around.
Launchpad did not seem to feel the dramatic tension of their current situation. his handsome face held the same slightly oblivious smile that he always wore. he did not seem bothered by her even though they were standing near each other. she worried that this might be one-sided, if not for the kiss-emote mess up. surely, he felt something for her but did not want to ruin their growing friendship.
when Huey was far enough away to not-likely overhear, she cleared her throat and looked over at him. “ Brings you back huh, Launchpad? ” she asked, smiling up at him. “ Eh… What? Oh! Yeah, it does, Ms. Della Leader Duck. ” he said with a wider grin. “ But he hasn’t fallen into a spiky pit of doom yet… so it’s kinda different. ” he added in a nonchalant way.
