âȘ: One of our muses inviting the other for a Christmas duet.
It was that time of the year again though there was no snow outside the windows, the Los Angeles weather being much too warm for that. Something some people liked and others didnât, the blonde vaguely recalled Violet commenting on how she missed having actual weather. The memory made him smirk, contact between them was still limited but never once had he given up on her. Which brought him to today and how he slowly approached her in that shy boy manner that he had at times around her. Even more now that there was such a gap between them, she had told him to go away. He would never forget that, but perhaps over time he would be forgiven. Heh, it was hopeful thinking. Still he spoke up to her.
"Itâs Christmas soon you know? Want to get into the spirit with a Christmas song?"
delicatelydriftingaway:
"Yeah?" She bit her lip as she smiled some more. "I think sugar cookies have them beat, Tate, I donât know." It was as if she were warming up to him all over again. The signs of anger she had before seemed to have left. It just felt right for it to be like this. But, in the back of her head, there was the reason that it had stopped being like that a while ago. She ignored it for now. Instead, she glanced down at his hand, hesitating before she intertwined her fingers with his, beginning to head towards to the basement. âI canât imagine what kind of movies have been stored up there for how long.âÂ
"No no no, you think sugar cookies have them beat but you just donât know how wrong you are." He tsked at her in that playful tone that he used to use before everything happened between them. Their fingers were laced together and he was sure to lead her through the halls, ignoring any other spirits who would happen to see them walk by and gave them quite curious looks. "Iâm not sure, I havenât looked. Maybe my mom left something behind? Like she has any taste in movies." He had to roll his eyes at that, but knowing his mother she probably took all movies and didnât leave a thing behind.
"Wrong" Violet grinned softly shaking her head. "I'm not wrong, ever. Trust me, I think I know what I'm talking about." She took notice to the other spirits and bit her lip, averting her gaze away from them. She could imagine how odd this looked. Everyone knew the story between Tate and Violet. The night she had told him to go away was when everything spread. "If there's not any movies, there's probably something to do." Though, she doubted it. "We could always relive our first meeting and play cards." She rolled her eyes, smiling faintly.Â
((im heading to bed now, so i'll reply to everything either in the morning or after school!! i may only have time to reply to one thing tomorrow morning uwuÂ
deadly-crimson:
Violet obviously knew nothing abut this young man. Therefore, she had about as much manners towards him as he did her. She narrowed her eyes a bit, a frown...
Jumping just a bit, Violet's glare worsened towards him. Though, at the side of him so angry, she merely rolled her eyes. "Relax, can't you take a joke?" Of course, what she had said was not a joke. But, if he was going to treat her like that, she'd make sure she'd be spiteful in return. "Yeah, yeah, kids these days. There's nothing to get to the bottom of, who ever you are." She looked him over. "Once you die here, you're stuck here. It's as simple as that."Â

"Yeah, yeah." Violet merely kept her arms around herself, rubbing them lightly. She could just picture them doing all those things. It was very odd. When was the last time she did something like that? Last year. Though, she had done it with her family. The picture of them making cookies together or singing carols had her actually laughing a bit, despite the straight face she had tried to keep. "Oh, yeah. Chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies. Doing duets  and what not." She laughed a bit more. "Yeah?  I guess I wouldnât mind checking it out. See what kind of good movies there are up there." She wouldnât mind that at all. The tension seemed to be slipping away, Violet still being slightly hesitant, but much more willing than she was before.Â
The tension wasnât as bad between them and it was only getting easier as they kept talking, as if nothing had changed between them. âChocolate chip cookies are my favorite,â he commented towards her with a small smile. Which they were, but it was deadly sometimes, he remembered once biting into what he thought was a chocolate chip cookie but actually turned out to be a raisin cookie, that was a very horrible surprise. âGreat, Iâm sure we can find something to watch.â With that he outstretched his hand towards her so she would take it, wanting to lead her to the basement.

Violet obviously knew nothing abut this young man. Therefore, she had about as much manners towards him as he did her. She narrowed her eyes a bit, a frown appearing on her lips. Who the hell was this guy to talk to heer like this? "Look," she said through gritted teeth. "It's not my fault you apparently don't know how to do your job right, okay?" She shook her head slightly, wrapping her arms around herself. "The house, it's like.. It preserves your soul or something, I don't /know/!" Violet glared at him a bit. "Either way, it's doing its job better than you are it seems."Â
Normally Grell was assigned to the English district, never going any further than anywhere in England. However there were times when a reaper was sent abroad to not only fetch a soul but to figure out whatever the problem was in that area. This...
It all seemed to come back to her, hitting her smack in the face like a brick. Yikes. For a moment, her eyes went wide and she just stared at him, dumbfounded. Though, she was quick to come back to her senses, her brows creased. She was dead? She knew exactly why she was still in the house. Tate had explained it to her, though hadn't gone into much depth with it. She just knew the house didn't let you go.Â
"It is," she said, running her fingers through her hair. "You've never been here before and as far as I know, Tate never mention someone like you." Violet took a deep breath, shaking her head. "You know, I'd think someone would give a person a few moments to collect themselves after they died before shooting questions at them like that. .. The house-. It does something," she began, despite her previous words. "It keeps you here."Â
((and this one seems interesting!)) "Don't lie to me. What's wrong?" Violet raised a brow as she stared at the ghost, an expectant look on her face that said she was waiting for him to tell the truth.
Tate looked over at her, having that kicked puppy look about him but not answering right away. It seemed that Violet knew him quite well, at least well enough to know that there was something wrong with him. Not that he was going to answer her. âWho says that thereâs something wrong?â
insanely-x-psychotic:
Violets intertwined her fingers with his, staring ahead of them. She seemed quite content with this, glad he had chosen this to make him feel a bit better. Nodding, she frowned just barely. âAgain? Iâm surprised he knows youâre still coming around me. Itâs not like I let him know. I canât talk to him about anything without getting some sort of therapy session.â She rolled her eyes again, brushing her thumb against the back of Tateâs hand. âThe stress. And my mother.âÂ
He couldnât of asked for anything better than this, this closeness, never once did he even let go of her. He couldnât. âIâm not really surprised, even before when you werenât saying anything he figured it out.â He had to smirk just a little at the thought that her father always seemed to know. âI donât think he can help it, itâs what he does for a living after all. Not that he should shrink you. Maybe he should leave you alone, heâs only making it worse.â
Violet was quite content as well. It was nice, how close they were. For once, she didn't feel so lonely. Tate seemed to have that affect on her while he was around. "Yeah, probably because all he does is snoop around and tries to avoid conversations with me." She merely rolled her eyes, laughing just a bit. "If anyone needs a shrink, it's him. Trust me. I can't believe my mom still hasn't made us go to family counseling or something like that."Â
Normally Grell was assigned to the English district, never going any further than anywhere in England. However there were times when a reaper was sent abroad to not only fetch a soul but to figure out whatever the problem was in that area. This is what was happening with Grell and how he found...
Violet, as heartbreaking as it may be to some people, could no longer find the value of life. They had moved to California for a new  start, so the young girl could meet new people and her parents could regain the trusting relationship they once had. But, this only made things worse it seemed. Even after meeting Tate, she couldn't be happy. She had so many reasons not to be. At least that's what she thought.Â
So as she popped open the pills and downed them all, she could feel it take effect very quickly. It wasn't long before she was on the floor, the empty bottle in her hand. Yes, all the memories and events of her life flashed past her, her birthdays, her Christmas's, parents, everything. All the way up to her first meeting with Tate. Even then, it was as if she could hear his voice. And then, after all of it, she found herself staring at a complete stranger, quite shaken up. "Who-. Who are you? What the Hell is that supposed to mean?" It hadn't quite dawned on her that she had died. It was the house that seemed to almost preserve her soul elsewhere so she was bound there.Â

If anyone who didnât know their story saw them, they would most likely just assume them to be any other totally in love teenage couple. Obviously that wasnât the case, though his smile could fool anyone. âIt was really lame, yeah.â She gave a roll of her eyes, pressing her lips together, suppressing a small smile. It was still slightly noticeable. âI do. Itâs probably one of the only holidays that isnât bullshit. You have more than two reasons to be with people you actually enjoy being around.â There was a lot of reasons Violet enjoyed Christmas. âAnd the snow,â she added.  âSo, you want to spend the holidays-. Or tonight. Together? I donât know what you had in mind, considering weâre stuck here.â She gestured around them to the house. âItâs not like thereâs much to do.âÂ
"Well it obviously worked." His voice sounded more playful now as he noticed that small little smile which she was trying so hard to hide. It didnât get passed him in the slightest and knew then that she was going to enjoy this as much as he was, there was no fighting this. "Well, it was complete bullshit in my family but that is no reason that we canât celebrate." There was no reason that his family life should effect them, he wouldnât let it effect them. "Either is fine by me, Iâd take the entire holiday. We could sing carols, bake cookies, and all that other crap." He laughed at this, just picturing it in his mindâs eye. Though being stuck in this house did put a damper on things, there was only so much that they could do to pass the time. "Well I found a VHS player in the basement.. if weâre lucky it still works."
"Yeah, yeah." Violet merely kept her arms around herself, rubbing them lightly. She could just picture them doing all those things. It was very odd. "I figured itâd be something like that, she murmured, but nodded. It wasnât like she minded or anything. It was the most contact she seemed to have gotten since she moved to the house. Her parents were constantly arguing over the most ridiculous things and school was just Hell. She shifted a bit so that she was lying down on her side, and gestured for him to lie down next to her so that she could wrap her arms around him, resting her head against his shoulder. "How was my Dad today? He wasnât a jerk or anthing, right? Heâs been acting-" she paused for a moment, trying to think of the right words. "Weird."
"Aw, you know me sooo well." He rolled his eyes before moving his hair out of his eyes, only to have it fall right back into place like he hadnât moved it at all. He was sure to give Violet a chance to adjust herself on the bed to where it could be comfortable for the both of them, theyâd done this before so it was nearly perfected in a way that they just molded together seamlessly. He went and cuddled up right against her, holding her hand and enjoying the warmth that came from her resting her head against him. "Your dad?" How was he supposed to answer that? It wasnât like Dr. Harmon was in the best shape right now, even he could see that in his sessions with him. When he was there it was clear that they both needed help. "Well.. he warned me to keep away from you again," he chuckled, "like thatâs going to happen, but he did seem a little off. Maybe the stress is getting to him."
Violets intertwined her fingers with his, staring ahead of them. She seemed quite content with this, glad he had chosen this to make him feel a bit better. Nodding, she frowned just barely. "Again? There was a small part of him telling him that this wasnât going to happen, may as well turn back now and try again another day. Probably retreat to the basement or to Noraâs side, anything would be better than hearing her turn him away again. He even fought some tears, which luckily didnât effect his eyes by making them glassy, he was just a sensitive boy. However he didnât listen to his impulses, the blond stayed right there with his hand in her hair and looking right at her. Seeing that conflict and that inner battle within herself to turn him down, to try and make him disappear; but they were practically magnets to each other. Not being able to stay away from each other long at all, even if their meetings werenât at all pleasant anymore.
Violet sounded angry to a point but that didnât change the fact that he was smiling now at her words, she wasnât sending him away! Surely this had to be some sort of progress, right? The other ghostly inhabitants were wrong, she would forgive him one day no matter how long he had to wait. Tate pulled his hand away to fiddle with his own fingers. âYou know you wonât regret it. I promise.â
They were indeed magnets to each other. Violet was pulled to him, no matter how ashamed she felt about that. And no matter how many awful thoughts she had about him. Everything in her told her to say no to him, like usual, and send him away so she wouldnât be bothered, but she just couldnât stand it anymore. She was so lonely, almost as if she were back at the first day when she had moved to his house. She missed him, albeit feeling a bit ashamed of it.  She did really hope she wouldnât want to take back her decision to saying yes to Tate. She could see the genuine smile that appeared on his lips and she took a deep breath. Violet met his gaze again, wrapping her arms around herself. âYou better hope I donât.â She spoke softly now, less angry, more like her normal self. âWere you serious about singing those Christmas songs? I didnât even knew you liked that kind of stuff.â  She raised a brow at him, vaguely wondering if he did enjoy those things.Â
He seemed happier now and it showed but of course there was always that thought in the back of his head that said that she was going to turn him away any second now or perhaps change her mind. None the less he kept that sweet smile on his face, it was so innocent you would of never guessed the things that he had done, such as murder and rape. Because such a sweet innocent face could never do that, they were wrong. âActually that was just an excuse to talk to you,â he admitted with a shrug, âkind of a lame excuse, huh?â He was sure that he could of come up with something better. âYou like the holidays though, donât you? You looked like you enjoyed them last year, and I just want to enjoy it with you.â It wasnât like he had the best Christmasâ growing up, so didnât really have any fond memories.

insanely-x-psychotic:
"Totally, donât I know it." Violet seemed to have that same smart mouth. It wasnât very surprising, it was the cause for most of the arguments with her Dad. "Yeah? I know," Violet muttered. She looked him over, blinking a few times. It wasnât the first time she  had heard that before. She had even told herself that once at one time or another. Reaching up, she carded her fingers through his hair, raising her brows. "Anything I can do, then?"Â
Tate took the moment to relish in the fact that she was touching his hair, it was something that he very much enjoyed and didnât get anywhere else. He was lucky to have this, to have her he quickly reminded himself mentally. âYou can hold me,â he said with one corner of his lips quirked up. Just an excuse to get her to touch him even more which would please him and help him feel better in a way.

"And what if none of their souls were saved?"
"I have seen the world, beheld its wonders."Â
"You are young. Life has been kind to you. You will learn."Â
"How would you like a little squiff, dear. A little jig-jig, a little bounce around the bush. Wouldnât you like to push me crumpet? It looks to me, dear, like youâve got plenty there to push."
"Thereâs a hole in the world like a great black pit, and the vermin of the world inhabit it."Â
"Oh, that was many years agoâŠÂ I doubt if anyone would know."
"Wait! Whatâs your rush? Whatâs your hurry?"
"You gave me such a fright! I thought you was a ghost!"
"Iâve noticed something weird. Lately all the neighborâs cats have disappeared."
"No denying times is hard."
"Spit it out, dear. Go on, on the floor. Thereâs worse things than that down there."
"Up there? Well, no oneâll go near it. People think itâs haunted. You see, years ago something happened up there. Something not very nice."
"My, you do like a good story, donât you?"
"So changed! Good God, what did they do to you down there in bloody Australia or wherever you were?"
"Let them quake in their boots⊠For their hour has come."
"Have you got any money? Howâre you going to live?"
"These are my friends. See how they glisten?"
"Speak to me, friend. Iâll listen."
"Well, weâre together. And weâll do wonders, wonât we?"
"Always had a fondness for you, I did."
"At last my right arm is complete again!"
"Teach me how to sing. If I cannot fly, let me sing."
"Wonât you give me a chance?"
"Donât go trespassing there. Not if you value your heart. Tamper there, and itâs a good whipping for you."
"Iâll steal you."
"If I see your face again on this or any other neighbor street, youâll rue the day that you were born. Is that plain enough speaking for you?"Â
"Rub a minute. Stimulating, inâit?"
"Smells like piss."
"Do you hear me? Either accept my challenge, or reveal yourself a sham."Â
"Strange. It seems your face is known to me."
"I guarantee to give you, without a pennyâs charge, the closest shave you will ever know."Â
"Off! Off with you, or youâll get a kick on your rump thatâll make your teeth chatter!"
"Hush, love, hush."Â
"Donât you know, silly man, half the fun is to plan the plan. All good things come to those who can wait."Â
(tw!) âSince youâre so hot to ksh! Thatâs the throat to slit, dear.â
"Why do you call me that?"
"You mock me! You tempt me with your innocence!"Â
"What shall I do? Iâd rather die!"
"Was that a noise? You mustâve heard that there?"
"The plan is made, so kiss me!"
"At your service. A pleasure to have your patronage."
"You are in a merry mood today."
"May we proceed?"
"Pretty women are a wonder."
"Hereâs to pretty women!"Â
"There is indeed a higher power to warn me just in time."
"Deceiving slut!"Â
"All this running and shouting! What is it now, dear?"
"Why did I wait? You told me to wait!"
(tw!)Â "They all deserve to die!"
"In all of the whole human race thereâs two kind of men, and only two. The oneâs stay put in his proper face and the one with his foot in the other oneâs face."Â
(tw!)Â "Look at me! Look at you! Donât we all deserve to die?"
"Welcome to the grave!"Â
"I will have vengeance!"
(tw!)Â "I want you bleeders!"
"The work waits! Iâm alive at last! And Iâm full of joy!"Â
