[ Part 3 ]
Stitching, sewing, pinning, et cetera; I used the same material in the bow tie as I do the waistcoat so it all looks cohesive. This is also carried over into the lapels!
Haven’t finished the jacket yet, as the tailcoat’s giving me grief. But the claws are very fun.
My next step is to make a false shirt-front with his signal 🛜 symbol so that the buttons aren’t showing.
Then, of course, tackle the rest of the jacket!

We’re doing ties now, huh?
vaguely inspired by that one christmas illustration

(Wondering if I should start posting my art here too)
[ Part 2 ]
Taking a break from stitching the jacket to do some side pieces, namely the shoes and the bowtie!
(Remember the cuffs from earlier? They’re drying and waiting to be attached! Added some buttons too)
Lookin’ sharp!
And I’ve never hand-made a bowtie before but I think it turned out pretty good.

[ Part 1 ]
We work smarter, not harder here- so we’re modifying a normal suit jacket that already fits me into a tailcoat, and using the leftover pieces as the tails.
Using the (fake) pockets of the jacket as a guide, I trimmed a new hem and am measuring out where I want the ‘tails’ to sit. The smaller strips of fabric that covered the pockets are coincidentally juuust the right size for my wrists, so we’ll be turning those into his cyan shirt cuffs!
(The painter’s tape is a guide of where I want the eventual pinstripes to sit in comparison to where my elbow bends)
The cyan paint on the lapels is going to be beneath the actual material I’m using..
..which is thin and slightly transparent, but gives off a really nice shine/bedazzled effect. I’m going to a rave, so I want this baby to shine brighter !
Here’s that material sewn onto the inside of the tailcoat pieces. Looks sufficiently fin-like and almost pixelated as well!
