had a whole day to get back to Austin so took some backroads to escape interstate madness - came across this place along way... the pepper jack boudin made the scenic detour totally worth it (at Kinder, Louisiana)

finished what i’m calling #motorsportsmarch in NOLA. had a rough start to the day when I pulled up to tech and they discovered an addition to my tire that i somehow managed to run over in the short drive from the parking lot. luckily i had an old tire and threw it on to survive the rest of the day and get me home - this may have been the last time the stock wheels will ever be on the car! quickly the day got better once i had some alligator for breakfast then caught simultaneous carting and supermoto action in between my sessions on track. I dialed in the suspension to a very stiff setting and the car felt better than it ever has before, even on old tires it handles amazing - can’t wait to get the new ones on...i’m still learning to drive without bracing for every corner and wasting energy that is now handled by the seat, harness and better suspension. taking a month off then heading to a practice day at Hallet before #oloa2018 (at NOLA Motorsports Park)

February 2016: First time ever racing a motorcycle @socalsupermoto - had way too much fun and decided I wanted to build my own race bike. November 2016: I buy a #yz450 dirt bike to convert to supermoto. June 2017: I finish building the bike March 2018: I finally race the damn thing and manage to get 3rd place by .008 of a second! stumbled upon an awesome camp spot as the sun was going down Friday night just outside Telephone, TX (at Caddo National Grassland)

installed a hitch on the truck and hit the road this weekend to go Supermoto racing in Oklahoma for the first time. I’ve now been to Buffalo and Fredonia TX (also passed by Albany and Utica) #letsgobuffalo (at Buffalo, Texas)

Solid weekend in Cresson. Went from feeling like I forgot how to drive on a track (and drifting the car by accident twice in the first session) to being mostly comfortable with the new setup...can’t wait to put the new tires on it soon. We did a sneak peak walk of the parts of the track that will be included on One Lap. There were race cars and whatnot there but my favorite two vehicles on track this weekend were the Ricky Bobby Spec Miata and the Honda Civic Hybrid. Also broke my record for longest transit with no front brake pads with the 4 hr drive back to Austin. Time to put some new ones on before we head to NOLA in two weeks. I also need to start taking better photos with my real camera if I can remember it next time. (at MotorSport Ranch)

I drove recklessly at high speeds through a police academy and didn’t get arrested. They even let me MC the mic for a whole session. Super cool place for an autocross and the car was a blast to drive with the new suspension and took some learning to adjust to (Its very hard to not to drive it like a rallycar anymore) - we’ll see how it does on a real racetrack next week in Ft. Worth (at Houston Police Academy)

been a busy 2018 for the civic so far. we installed a roll bar, 6 point harness and new suspension (I was still on stock suspension at 120,000 very rough miles!). Also had the fenders rolled to fit 18” wheels and 275 wide tires (stock is 215). feels like a new car! plan is to autocross this weekend then hit some track days to get dialed in before #oloa2018 in May

this car has entered two events since I’ve owned it. it finished neither but won both.... #2018goals: finish AND win a race (at Rally Ready Driving School)

found one of my favorite track event photos that while searching for canvas material for my walls. really sad not seeing this place on any schedules for 2018 but am so thankful I moved to Texas in time to get plenty of laps in while it was open. while my track addiction was born @wgi1948 it came to life at TWS. made it home! over 2000 miles traveled in 4 days with no issues. I picked up the truck in Idaho, a grill guard in Colorado and wheels in Texas along the way. I installed the wheels, removed the fender trim, mud flaps and bug deflector...looking much better already! (at Austin, Texas)
