Nazis will never be welcome in paganism. They have no space in our communities, we will have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to nazis. You have no right to the cultures, gods and religions you hijack to spread your disgusting ideologies. You will find no refuge or comraderie amongst pagans.
Reblog to let nazis know they’re not welcome here.
Preach!
Being the black sheep means that you're (probably) the only pagan in a strictly muslim country and family. I have parents and an older brother who insulted the gods with ZERO hesitation, because they believe Allah is the only god. My phone wallpaper is filled with the gods I worshipped (Seth, Brigit, Gaia, etc.) as a simple devotional act, but now I am terrified that one day they'll open my phone without my consent and see the pictures. Last week, I purchased a mythology book from the bookstore so I could research the religious and cultural contexts of myths, but when I left it out in the open, my mother found it, called it a "cursed book", and confiscated it. Luckily, I snuck into my parents' bedroom to take it back, while she's away.
It's not just my family (primarily, my parents and big brother) but my former friends as well. A friend of mine thinks it's "funny" to ragebait Lord Zeus and Lady Nemesis. He asked me to do random shit with the Olympians, because he thinks my religion is a "trend"; it's really not. At the same time, another friend, who kept fat-shaming me for years, called me "delusional". All of my "friends" ignorance, fueled by hubris, was enough for me to snap. I blocked them, gave the silent treatment, and isolated myself from the group during recess.
My family is currently unaware of the fact that I have left Islam to join paganism and became an eclectic pagan, nor do they know that I have recently incorporated Lucifer, Lilith, and Baphomet into my practice.
Safe to say that I am proud of myself for choosing eclectic paganism, because I feel more comfortable and happy. I love the gods and in return, they love me. If you're struggling with the same situation as I am, remember that you are not alone.
I love the casual substitution of "gods" instead of "god" in colloquial sayings. "oh my gods" "gods, my feet hurt" etc etc. like yeah deconstruct the societal standard of monotheism with me. let's party
As a PJO fan turned Helpol, I wholeheartedly agree!

before you ask "are the gods mad at me?" THINK:
have you...
1. killed or maimed someone
2. killed or maimed an animal for purposes other than consuming/processing it
3. knowingly and purposefully hurled vile obscenities or insults at any god or gods
4. made it a life goal to be a terrible person
5. been a terf
IF YOU SAID NO TO ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS then girl you're fine go have a dr. pepper
Good to know, cuz I was always afraid they wouldn't like me if I made a mistake (it's because I grew up in a Muslim family and the things I heard about Allah being angry have damaged me). But thank you so much.
Some Christians and Muslims when you tell them their beliefs aren't the first religions in the world and that there are more religious beliefs out there than they think.
Hot take:
Some men only worship male gods and figures, because they can't accept that women are creators of life. Goddesses (Hera, Artemis, Freya, Inanna, etc.) and religious figures (like Eve or Mother Mary) are underappreciated by THOSE types of men, because their insecure ahh hate it when the opposite gender is revered/worshipped for something greater such as the world's creation. To men, male deities/gods are representations of their virtues: authority, strength, courage, resilience, and the law. As for goddesses, however, they don't see the significance of these deities, because a goddess doesn't possess their ideal qualities. They think that love, beauty, creation, life, fertility/procreation, harmony, knowledge, and virginity are useless. On occasions, they even dared to distort the stories of goddesses, twist their image, and also make them appear inferior to male deities. Heck, there are times where they violate the statues.
As a dude who worships Mother Gaia, Hestia, Brigit, Artemis, Devana, Aphrodite, and the like, I believe that women are incredible in their own ways and should be praised not only for their talents, but also for their natural association with life, fertility, motherhood, nurturance, and strength. We should thank Gaia for bringing life into her body (the world), Hera for punishing unfaithful or abusive husbands, Artemis for protecting young maidens, the Triple goddess for allowing us to see the magic of nature, and of course, Eve for inventing clothes.
Goddesses and women from different cultures/religions are equal to gods/men in terms of power. Unfortunately, misogynists refuse to accept that, so instead they turned them into servants who always get the short end of the stick with the gods. Gaia's body (the Earth) is constantly ruined, Hera gets villainised for her jealous rage, Artemis is stripped of her virginity, witches get burned at the stake for making herbal potions, and Eve is blamed for the sins of this world.
In short, goddesses deserve the same appreciation, respect, and love as the gods, rather than being reduced to villainesses, lesbian icons, toys, and servants.
