Now that it's fully paid off, I finally feel right sharing this more widely - this is the fully transformed Dragon Form of Amily Garen, the main character of my future book series, commissioned from @deesketchs!
Amily is a Drake; a small, flightless variety of dragons which specialize in high speed or endurance running, climbing, and swimming.
Amily in particular specializes in speed above all else, and is capable of sprinting at hundreds of miles an hour for extended periods with the spines along her back capable of raising, lowering, or subtly turning to manipulate airflow around her as she sprints, minimizing resistance.
While on all fours, the typical drake rarely rises more than six feet in height, with Amily herself coming in at only around five feet. However, they are nearly twice as long as they are tall, and more than capable of standing on their hind legs for extended periods and using their hand-like claws to grab objects, climb, or even cast magic. Though, they cannot move very fast like this.
Every dragon's magic is centered around an element, with five elements forming the basis of their system, those being Fire, Water, Lightning, Earth, and Air, and Amily's is obviously Lightning. But every dragon also manifests their elemental alignment differently and in a way unique to them.
For Amily, she is something of a living dynamo, and the more she moves and the faster or more strenuous her movements, the more electrical power she is able to build up and release in bursts either incrementally or all at once.
However, unlike most dragons, Amily struggles with magic and cannot really cast it beyond her own body. This means she's a brawler through-and-through, and can only really augment herself... but the ways in which she's learned to do so are suitably clever to make up for this shortcoming.
At top speed, Amily is able to run at over 300 mph, though she thinks she might be able to go even faster as she grows and becomes more familiar with her dragon form. As a half-dragon, she is not always in a transformed state, and mostly only performs partial transformations. As such, the full capabilities of her dragon form remain unknown, even to her...
