DAILY HOOK PHOTO DAY 26!!

Bake 30-35 min until top is browned.

Instructions: 1) Preheat oven to 425 °F 2) Combine flour, granulated sugar, and shortening with a pastry blender or standing mixer until shortening is incorporated. 3) Mix in water or vodka (very cold) until rollable dough forms (less liquid will be needed if using butter due to its water content) 4) Form a dough ball and split in half. 5) Refrigerate half of the dough, 6) On a floured surface, roll out the other half to a 12" circle Transfer rolled dough to a 9" pie plate. 7) Combine apples, powdered sugar, (nutmeg,) and cinnamon in a large bowl until uniform. 8) Spread apple mix evenly into the prepared pie plate 9) Roll out refrigerated dough to a 12" circle 10) Center dough over pie 11) Trim excess upper and lower crusts to 1" 12) Pinch and flute crusts to join them (If crusts are too dry to stick lightly moisten the lower crust with water) 13) Cut small slits in the top crust using a small sharp knife, ensure each slit creates an opening, 14) Bake on center rack for 15 min 15) Tent crust with aluminum foil 16) Reduce oven temp to 350 °F & return pie to the oven for 30 min 17) Allow pie to cool at least 1 hr to set filling.
