Note to self-

One: Do not expect anything from anyone.

Two: Do not take anyone for granted.

Life all over is a beautiful entity. Yet, ain’t no roses without thorns and beauty without flaws. The chapters and sub-chapters of life are unplanned, unsystematic and perhaps more random than those forms of proteins the seven genes of Ebola can translate to. 

The sudden change in heartbeat, the natural curve from the gentle k-indie music, soul friends and comfort food, allowing ourselves to relive childhood when we lay in our mother’s lap. 

Breathe in, may we stay at equilibrium and at peace regardless of our surroundings.

Breathe out, the taste of fresh classic milk tea with less sugar and boba; the genuine laughters and anecdotes of giving up on incidental characters.

Who knew that we’d meet on a common ground, but that was meant to diverge? I’m wondering how much we could’ve built on our common ground when at the end, that wasn’t the destination our fates were leading to?

No suffering when with friends that are real. The ones that stick with you through thick and thin. Oh yes, boss ladies- we’re here to grow. 

Oh yes, we got this! Cause’ YOU, ARE A STAR UP THERE 💫. But you’re not the only one. When stars align, smiles sparkle and fill void corners. 

We don’t care about calories( do we not though? 😉 ) Cause’ love is the one thing that needs no dieting. Cause’ we can quench our thirsts & share our fulfillment. 

No, we are not there yet.

But we’re on the way.

This is a phrase from one of former U.S. President Barack Obama’s famous speeches and I think this will resonate with people of all creed, color, and race:

The promises that you keep, the restrictions that you follow, the decisions that you make... 

The decisions to stretch yourself, place yourself in situations unforeseen and let yourself be vulnerable. To experience the highest of highs and lowest of lows, to enjoy the not-too-often smooth gliding phases, smile at same frequencies and rub each other’s tears at times. We do them, not for pious beliefs, cultural routines or obligatory circumstances, but for this unfathomable phenomenon, called LOVE.

What is it? What is it that is behind the greatest victories and miserable battles of human history? Is it the one that keeps you longer during the nights? The one that increases your appetite and ignites extra-motivation? 

Love makes you think of spring cherry blossoms, hear soft calming rain and feel the warmth of family in the most unanticipated corner of Earth. You come across beings, not always with the same personality traits, ideologies and choices. But then...

Suddenly somehow, you realize how your study room conversations at past midnight and random encounters lead to dancing at balls, finishing large packet of buttered popcorns and laughing at the top of your lungs.
