ive said it before and iβll say it again. if someone can come up with a non-circular definition of woman divorced from biological sex that is relevant to the oppression of over 50% of the worlds population, if you can point to the thing that unites us as a class no matter where we are in the world and what culture we are apart of, if you can describe to me what the womanly feeling is that applies to ALL women, and tell me how this internal feeling is more important than sex based protections, then maybe iβll reconsider my views. if your answer is still βits undefinableβ orΒ βits personal and depends on the womanβ then i donβt want to listen to anything else you have to say. if we are undefinable and an abstract concept and a feeling or a βsocial roleβ that differs depending on who you ask, how are we a class of people? how do our oppressors identify us? how do you solve our oppression? how do you write laws to protect us? why does this confusion not happen with any other oppressed class? what do gay people all have in common? what do black people all have in common? why are we not sitting around and questioning what really makes someone black? what is the one thing i have in common with a Sentinelese woman, who is completely cut off from our modernized society? anything you have to say is irrelevant if you cant answer these things, because its so removed from the serious shit women are still dealing with in the year 2020. the people raping, torturing, murdering, mutilating, marrying off, trafficking, and denying the education of women and girls dont have to stop and question what a woman is. the men only doing medical trials on other men, the men only designing male crash test dummies, the men constructing all of society for other men dont stop and go βwait sex is suddenly this blurred and difficult concept to understand, biological sex is a white western colonialist construct? i read this thread about it on twitter. huh ok. guess we should start designing things for everyoneβ and they never will. they will continue catering to MALES because unlike everyone with brain worms on the internet they know what biological sex is. if a male passes as a woman, he will experience misdirected misogyny because people around him are assuming he is of the female sex. iβm sure rachel dolezal experienced racial discrimination as well. if they clock him as male, the oppression he faces is due to not conforming to traditional gender roles as a man aka adult human male. however he still benefits from his male body.
if everyone identified as nonbinary, 50% of the population would still be oppressed for some weird reason. also the world would still only be designed for 50% of the population. why is this? what would we do then? all we have done is slapped some new labels on people. gender is a social hierarchy that serves to oppress women. its not an innate, internal feeling. sex is why we are oppressed, gender is how. I literally donβt know what people are talking about when they say its a feeling. how do i know Iβm a woman? what is this womanly feeling? iβm not playing dumb. Iβve talked about this with like every other woman in my life. none of us know what this feeling is all the trans people are talking about. Iβve been told iβm non binary by people in the gender fandom because i donβt have a lady brain , Iβve dealt with dysphoria, and donβt have womanly feelings Iβm just existing in my female body. i have feelings and a personality, none are βi feel like a womanβ. i donβt identify as a woman, i just am one because i am an adult human female. if this means Iβm nonbinary, that means literally every other woman i know is nonbinary. somebody please give me a list of womanly emotional/psychological traits that men cant feel, and that doesnβt just come down to stereotypes and misogynistic gender roles.
if you can sit around arguing with people about how womanhood is divorced from biological realities, how its just some feeling that even YOU are unable to describe but apparently its important enough to erode women as a definable class and therefore erode our rights, if you are coming up with endless thought experiments to try and convince me that at a woman is a feeling and iβm stupid for caring about female protections, if you see a post about menstrual injustice and goΒ βew, terfyβ then i am here to tell you that you dont understand oppression, you dont care about the oppression of over 50% of the worlds population, you dont care about solving this oppression, and you dont care about women ESPECIALLY not women in developing countries who are still without privileges we have in the western world such as sex segregated spaces, and every day they pay the price, often with their lives.Β but yeah have fun calling me a white feminist. have fun navel gazing all day, going βbut what really AM i?β when you were born male and will die male. have fun with your meaningless gender identity
