Class was never the highlight of his day--being a Shinigami, he knew most of the material they were going over, so most of his time during class was spent making sure Liz and Patty were paying attention (they never were, though).
Today, however, his attention was drawn back toward the front of the room when he noticed all the heads in the class were turning toward the door.
Leaning over his desk, Kidd looked down at Crona, a soft sigh escaping him as the professor, again, asked for them to read, only for Crona to say they couldn’t. While that could’ve been the end of it, the professor seemed insistent, and Crona up and left the classroom before any of the reading got done.
“Uh--Sensei!” Kidd raised his hand. “I’ve already done this reading.” He explained, “May I be excused?”
A moment later, Kidd was grabbing his books, and making his way out of the classroom, half-jogging down the hall as he peered down corridor after corridor, trying to find where Crona had run off to. He didn’t have much time, any minute the bell would ring and they’d be lost among the crowd--
Finally, he spotted a familiar head of pink hair hunched over themselves. “Crona.” He said, softly as he approached, gesturing to the spot next to them. “May I?”
Kidd crouched down, removing a small dust brush from his pocket, and cleaning off the spot on the floor before he sat down next to Crona, mimicking their position, with his knees pulled to his chest.
“...So...” He said slowly, making sure he chose his words carefully. “Are...you okay?”
