Desperate force throws Chise into his arms and she clutches to the silk of his waistcoat as though her dear life depends on it. 

And maybe, maybe it does. After all, Elias was her home. The only being on this world who would always wait for her, who’d cherish her through good and bad, who’d welcome her back no matter how far she strays. 

“I’m back.” 

        The moon did indeed influence a lot of the fae world, including mages and alchemists.  Werewolves, and certain other creatures were afflicted by its powers, and for others it was their source of energy and life.  there was no doubt in his mind that potions made under the light of a full moon would have a stronger or more potent affect.

                      He watched her.  His gaze was filled with an emotion he wasn’t quite used to feeling yet - but he never wanted it to leave.  It made him feel so warm. He’d almost spaced out, tracing her delicate features with those piercing red eyes, but her question brought him back.                  

“Birth date?” he repeated, “I am not sure.  I’m unfamiliar with what you humans have made of the constellations…  I am also unsure when I began to exist.  I suppose, the closest thing to a birth date I have would be when Lindel found me.”

Ever so shy under the mage’s enamored gaze, Chise bashfully returned her attention back to the stars. A surge of heat flushed her cheeks, though she wasn’t sure if he caught glimpse of it. To be seen among a sight this breathtaking felt strange, yet not entirely unpleasant. Merely new, unusual, for no one had ever cared to pay much attention to her before. Chise pulled her legs closer, a curtain of red shielding her cheeks when she dropped her chin on top. 

“Would you enjoy having a birthday, Elias?” 

She couldn’t imagine he cared about human festivities - however, he did craft her a present for yule. A very lovely, sweet and thoughtful present he had made with his bare hands. There was the mistletoe kiss as well. Something not even Chise did consider doing with anyone before. Her heart stopped a beat when she thought back to that night, drawing her knees a little closer. 

In which we headcanon that Elias stores his Millions absolutely everywhere, including his own skull. 

“You’re right.” 

Chise agreed without thinking about it twice - living with Elias had taught her a thing or two of the fae, and replaced her fear of the beings she once referred to as things with appreciation and bravery. And love. Yes, she loved many of them now.
