Nai chuckled gently, the words echoing in his head but he appreciated her coy teasing. “It’s strange, isn’t it? Maybe our minds create a fantasy life so escape to when we sleep- Actually… No, never mind. I’m just overthinking.” Shaking his head, he stopped as he heard her voice again, introducing herself. He was nervous but he reached out to take her hand, shaking it lightly. “Oh, no… where are my manners?” He scratched the back of his hair. “I’m Nai. It’s nice to meet you too.”

Sunny watched, not realising what was going on when the man suddenly turned to apologise and gifted the waitress a large tip, much to the girl’s own surprise too. “If only I could be that persuasive.” The owner mused to herself, stopping when she heard the customer’s voice. “I must say that was quite impressive. Usually, when I get called with complaints, I can never handle it that well. Maybe since they don’t expect a woman to either be the manager or to stand up to them. There must be something I can do to thank you.”

“Maybe I am not the best person to switch dreams with. I always dream of weird machines, grinning at me. Trying to attack me and then… the girl.” Nai stopped. “There’s a girl. White, short hair. I always try to save her but…” He thought of the girl impaled but he shook his head, trying not to return to his panicked state.

“ You don’t seem like any kind of cyborg or humanoid?? ” Tini teased trying to lighten the mood for the other. Just hearing him talk about the dream, not only made her worry about them but also the effect they seem to be taking on the him. She knew she might’ve not been any kind of expert but she hoped she could provide with some kind of comfort even if it were a little while.‌ “ Hey, it’s okay you don’t have to tell me. I understand you umm- I don’t believe I ever got your name. I’m Tini, it’s nice to meet you. ” She put her hand on the other’s shoulder before taking it off right after to put it in front of him to shake. 

“I’m not entirely sure from here, but it’s in the woods and you go through a tree. All the major holidays have trees, and I believe Hanukah has a tree now.” HE told her before shrugging. “I have no idea. Never been.”

“ You mean every hallow day has a door??  Holy rabies!! I bet there’s one for Creepmas too. You haven’t visited Transylvania before, oh that explains a lot. As you can probably tell I’m from there, I actually help run a hotel with my family as well. It’s a very special hotel designated for only monsters and other ghouls as well. Also I don’t think I ever introduced myself earlier, I’m Mavis, Mavis Dracula. Sorry I didn’t do it any sooner, I was just way to excited over having another monster around here. It’s nice to meet you uhh- it was Jack the Pumpkin King, right?? ” She smiled brightly at the other, hoping they wouldn’t mind her belated introduction.

Nai mused in thought. “At least your life sounds more fun. If these dreams give me panic attacks like this, I don’t want to know my past life.”

Jack had to admit that he was a bit confused on what this girl was talking about. No, he wasn’t a master of all evil, although he was a genius on ways to scare and spook people. “Um, no.” He said softly before looking over at her. “Someone can control all the pumpkins? Cool.”

“ Oh- sorry I guess. So where exactly is this Halloween Town?? Is it anything like Translyvania?? Are there any vampires there?? ”

“I guess he’s just not well known in my town.” Jack offered before nodding. “Yes. I’m a big deal back home. Halloween Town. The best town around.”

The dragon’s eyes widen at that.  “Woah.  Sounds cool.”  He now wants that just to try it. 

“You could say that…” Nai pulled himself back to his feet, feeling something strange in the pit of his stomach. Shame. He felt embarassed that the dreams caught him in daylight and caused him to break so easily. However, that white haired girl was someone he couldn’t stop thinking of. Aside from the dreams, Nai had very little to go by. The mention of her grandma changed his mindset, wondering if there was a solution. “Did your grandmother every say anything about… continuous dreams? It seems that the only dreams I’ve had is this. It always appears as a blur but they feel so real.”

“I have no idea who that is.” Jack admitted before shaking his head. “No. I was a skeleton before coming here. Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King.” He frowned. “Um, I stopped rotting years ago.”
