Chasen's restaurant, once the place for Academy Awards parties. #oscars From @LApubliclibrary collection:
“Interior view of the former Chasen's restaurant, located at 9039 Beverly Boulevard in West Hollywood. Large booths, designed to seat 5-6 diners, fill one of the restaurant's rooms. Photograph dated September, 1999.”
"Opened as a barbecue restaurant by entertainer Dave Chasen in 1936, Chasen's was a popular destination for Hollywood's finest, many of whom had booths named after them. For years, this was "the" place for Academy Awards parties and to enjoy Chasen's famous chili. After the restaurant closed in April 1995, the building was used for private parties under the business name of "Chasen's Events" and as a filming location. In the late-1990s the legendary building was razed, and soon thereafter, a Bristol Farms grocery store was built in its place.”
