been replaying sotn again

so it's alucard practice time

this took me ages but I had the idea and couldn't let it go

i wanted to experiment further with the image since i kinda liked the vibe it had. so i adjusted some things, put some filters on it, and found a font that kinda-sorta looks like some PS1-esque survival horror font to give it that extra bit of spice

hopefully my Vision™ comes through on this one. you may need to view it at full res to get the effect since the scanlines on the pic can distort the final product when resized. 🥲

today is my favorite bleach character's b-day and I wanted to draw smth for him 😤 I struggled thru this with a headache so I didn't color it properly... pls forgive me 🙏 he deserves much more than this......

one such IRL thing is that my lovely cat virgo had surgery last week to remove a mass. she's recovering well, if a bit annoyed at being monitored 24/7.

the day she came home from surgery, i took this photo:

i showed it to a friend of mine and she said that the picture looked like "the portrait of a noble lady." that gave me an idea.

i present to you, her royal majesty virgo:

i simply painted over the picture in clip studio and made some... minor adjustments! be sure to view the full pic as i'm sure tumblr compressed the hell out of it.

i will say, it was challenging to paint in this way; i was trying out some new brushes that better mimic gouache and thus tried to use them... how i would when i paint with actual gouache lmao. it was trying. for that reason, i also cheated with the embellishments and used a pattern pen, so unfortunately, they kinda don't match the overall vibe... perhaps i'll try to recreate this with actual gouache in the future and hand-paint the embellishments.

been watching a lot of prehistoric creature content lately so i wanted to doodle the anurognathus! one of the tiniest pterosaurs ever 🥹 it's so tiny and cute, i wish they were still around today...

a lot of it is old rvb ship art, which will be fun to redo after 10+ years...

some of it doesn't look horrible for being 10+ years old, but my style has changed a lil bit so it might be interesting...

probs limited to stuff I've already posted and haven't deleted bc otherwise I'll be too embarrassed lmao

but ya that's my goal for the week: at least start one redraw of old art. not necessarily finish it, but I'm gonna start.

we'll see what happens.
