i know i said i did not want to talk about the nolan odyssey but i do have one more nodyssey post in me. i actually think the idea of odysseus understanding his story as existing both in and out of a historic timeframe is a fun way to handle the liminality caused by the story being part of an extensive oral tradition. however having him say "our age of bronze is collapsing" is perhaps not the way i would have done that

Cannot possibly explain how feral I feel about the Hadestown proshot having so many shots that include the audience. Because they’re as much of a part of the story as Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone are. i watched the hadestown proshot two days ago and i still cannot stop thinking about amber gray's acting decisions. being able to see her looks of devastation and grief up close was a wonderful direction choice and translated so well to the big screen
