Okay lore drop time coz @olive-garden-hoe asked for it! Starring Megan's Still Life form and lore notes.
First things first - Clark and Megan ARE toxic af, I'm not romanticizing em... Coz firstly I'm yume w Captain Clark, NOT Clark so eh.
But anyway they HAVE some interactions!
1. Clark is a little parasocial with Megan - He'll never approach his mailman because he's scared to lose this "pixie manic girl" stereotype about Megan in his head. He's just not ready facing THE Megan and not some image he made up in his obsessed and deranged mind.
He projected onto Megan all the qualities he could never force onto Barbara. Sure, Megan's fun - no doubt about it. But she's no pushover. She won't just nod along, and she's definitely not the type to back down just because someone tells her to quit something. She's needs to LIVE, not just exist.
He just thinks he's superior than Megan, because she looks like "stupid and crazy girl", but he never knew Megan is hella smart. She loves science, but her squint IS a problem to have "serious job", so, she's just a mailman.
Again just to remind, he's obsessed with her in a bad way, but will never approach her, because he's still stuck with his divorce in head and can't move on.
Megan, on the other hand, doesn't even think about Clark AT ALL. She doesn't acknowledge his existence outside her job - bringing mail. When Clark thinks about her 24/7, Megan thinks about what to cook after work in general. She dgaf.
Oh, and she thinks Clark is psycho after he tried to tell her about backrooms, hoping she'll understand him like no one else. Even tried to bring her along to show this place, but got rejected.
2. Still life Megan (I'll call her Flyer, like this "missing person" flyer yk) has a lot of symbolism in her appearance
First, Flyer doesn't have a mouth coz Clark never considered Megan has an opinion - he just sees her as "always cheerful and carefree!". He never asked how was her day nor cared about her day.
Second, the many eyes. He was fascinated with her eyes in general. And remembered it really vividly. So the backrooms amplified this, giving her eyes all over her body.
The flyer stuck to her body and became part of her. All of them have this "Missing person!" with Megan's face.
And third, her... Slightly suggestive appearance - he had a lot of nswf fantasies about her after alcohol, so Backrooms had only this suggestive image from him, mocking Clark in general.
3. Flyer and Captain have a more healthy relationship, unlike Clark and Megan.
They really love each other - Captain shows it by being constantly near her every time, protecting and/or picking her up and carrying around like something precious.
Captain really loves to hug her, coz Clark always wanted to hug Megan.
In general, backrooms just mocks Clark, showing that even his ugly copy has something that Clark can't have with Megan - stable and close relationship.
I think that is
Lmk and ask about them - I actually really love questions!
Bonus sketches with Flyer and Captain coz why not
Fanfact - if you'll give Flyer a glass bottle, she'll smash it twice over Clark's head.
