Archie James Bennett
Born Saturday July 12th 1913 in Aylesford, Kent.

BASIC LORE: - Archie has a very quiet childhood with his parents and younger sister in the countryside - Archie falls in love at 17 with Oliver, a boy who moves to his village, due to the time it is difficult for them - Archie and Oliver both enlist in the army when the war starts (WW2) - The two fight side by side, reported to be inseparable, and well liked in their troop - Oliver takes a bullet and is incapacitated. Still alive once the fight had died, however, Archie drags him to a field hospital wherein (unbeknownst to them) infection has broken out. - Oliver condition worsens thanks to the infection and he passes away - The death of Oliver, his love, breaks something in Archie and he loses control, falling into senseless violence, carving a bloodied path through every battlefield he set foot on. - Eventually Archie is shot down, and due to his death being in the middle of a field, his fellow soldiers can do nothing but push on without him. - A few months after his death, Archie is found staggering through no man's land by soldiers who saw him be shot down - They welcome him, grateful to see him alive, and take him in, letting him rest at a new hospital site - Archie eventually gained a reputation for being shot down and returning miraculously, being nicknamed "the dead man walking" by fellow soldiers - The nicknames sticks through to the end of the war, when Archie goes home with honour, ranked as a Lance Corporal. - Itching for more, Archie stays enlisted in the army, oftentimes starting fights just to get his anger out. - The records of Archie Bennett are patchy from there, but he became a local legend, almost a cryptid of sorts. People still talk of The Dead Man Walking today.
After Olivers death, Archie puts aside time at the end of every week (or if something exceptional happens) to write Oliver a letter detailing what's been happening as a way to feel close to him still. He does this even now.
