you sat through the tower of heaven arc, watched erza ask to requip into her armor because it makes her feel safe, say that she has kept her heart guarded ever since she left, and then realize that its vulnerability, forgiveness, and love that makes you strong and devotion that keeps you going, and you genuinely think her character was “ruined”?

fairy tail is the definition of everything is about love. pre tower of heaven, erza fought for lucy although only recently meeting her because she recognizes lucy’s kindness. even when dealing with siegrain, there’s so much tension building. in lucy’s narrations, erza is known for her love and it’s her love that makes her virtually unbeatable.

Well maybe I don’t WANT to work double as hard as abled people!! Maybe I deserve a BREAK!! Maybe I’ve been working MORE THAN double as hard for MY WHOLE LIFE and it’s led me to immense burnout & caused me to develop several MORE disabilities!! Maybe I should be ACCOMMODATED so I don’t have to KILL MY BODY AND BRAIN over trying to do what abled people can do!! Maybe I DON’T have to work double as hard!! Maybe if there’s the option to let me NOT work double as hard, I should have it, because I’m already working double as hard JUST TO SURVIVE!!

When Ultear and Meredy break him out of prison. Ultear starts the bullying immediately. Jellal gets roasted for getting caught and needing a rescue. "What would you do without me? Honestly this is pathetic"

Meredy's sensory link is Jellal's worst nightmare. One time, Jellal wacked her pretty good during a training session so Meredy sensory linked them and kept fucking with the bruise just so he knew it hurt

Ultear's parenting tactic is telling Meredy loudly that she needs to do things or she's gonna end up like Jellal. And then Meredy looks at him with the most horrified face and goes "Anything but that!"

The plan if they ever get caught by the council is to trip Jellal and run. Jellal is aware of this plan and makes sure they know he will grab them as he falls and get them all arrested

Jellal is pretty quiet so they've gotten in the habit of randomly yelling at him to shut up while he's sitting there silently. He is always offended

"It could be worse. I could be Jellal." Is said after almost every assessment of an injury

Man can't even open a book without being called a nerd

Ultear will ask Jellal if she should do something and when he responds she tells him not to tell her what to do. He is so tired

It's all fun and games, of course. Jellal sometimes even purposefully sets it up so they can tease him. (especially in the beginning when Meredy was pretty standoffish but would cheer up just to bully him)

Meredy is really into repeating his name over and over again for literal hours. It is the greatest test of his patience

The second greatest test is when they decide to ask him "are we there yet" every five seconds

Ultear forwards the time on stuff Jellal is holding/working on so it crumbles apart in his hands. He just stares at her until she fixes it

Jellal keeps telling her that she's not nearly as funny as she thinks she is, but that usually just spurs her on more

Laxus is the only person on the planet who can annoy Jellal to the point of violence. It's actually very impressive

They both can’t stand each other but trust the other more than they trust most people

Laxus has evolved from putting his arm around Jellal’s shoulder to just fully putting him in a headlock

They jokingly flirt with each other. Mostly like winks and a few blown kisses (it’s very off putting for their friends to see. everybody hates it)

It started because Laxus was trying to make Erza jealous by flirting with her man. It didn’t work and now Laxus physically cannot stop

Jellal always tries to sneak away from large guild parties and Laxus always draws attention to it and forces Jellal to come back

If Laxus has to suffer his friends so does Jellal

Tho most of the time you can find them both in a corner being antisocial together (until the guild realizes and forces them both to party)

They team up on Cobra. Imagine them sitting with him and complaining about him like he’s not even there

One time they sparred and flattened the entire guild hall. They are now forbidden to train together unless it’s very very far away from anyone and everything

Jellal is a hell of a strategist. Good enough to make even Mavis worry

He meditates frequently. My man is so zen

Besides those moments of chill, he is not good at sitting still. He prefers to keep busy. Mostly cause he’s avoiding being alone with his thoughts

He’s secretly competitive. You won’t hear him say anything out loud but he absolutely hates losing

He swore never to use the spell his used to kill Simon again. And he never does
