Trying to tell her shield-brother as much was like trying to convince a stone wall to move . The breton puffed out her cheeks while folding her arms in front of her . Damn that nord and his thick skull sometimes , it drove her nuts . Nostrils FLARED , a telltale sign for anyone around the dragonborn was ready to get into with him . However , the small breton immediately snapped her mouth closed as a SUDDEN realization dawned on her stunning her into a longer silence while pale cheeks slightly reddened with SHAME . How could she have missed it before ? Vilkas was WORRIED about her . Not too unlike how he would as children going up together . With this in mind the dragonborn BEGRUDGINGLY casted aside her stubborn nature and eventually nodded without word finally taking a seat in a creaky old chair . “  I’m . . . sorry ,  ” Halla relented , gaze downcast to AVOID those piecing blue eyes of his , “  I didn’t mean to be so difficult .  ”

The huntress knew she was hiding away and green hues were silently SEARCHING for an answer . With a sigh , Halla rubbed the heel of her palm into an eye WEARILY . “  I’m just . . . tired , Aela . I hope this is all over soon or . . .  ” The dragonborn trailed off , eyes distant as an onslaught of thought began to CONSUME . Whilst she would have liked to confided in the auburn haired nord , Halla did not wish to burden the other with the WEIGHT of her doubts . Instead , with a small shake of her silvery head the shorter of the two stood , forcing a smile while gesturing towards the double doors that led into Jorrvaskr . “  You know what ? Let us head inside . I think they are having too much fun without us .  ” The doe knew the huntress was smart enough to know she was DEFLECTING . Yet the breton was hopeful just this once Aela would allow her to ESCAPE from talking about her troubles and worries about the future .

It still BEWILDERED the dragonborn every now and then that she had this INCREDIBLE woman all to herself . “  Why wait until tonight when we have right now ?  ” the doe whispered before pressing lips against her beloved’s . Going into town can wait another hour or two , there was PLENTY of sunlight left considering it was still only the morn and the children had yet to wake .
