Okay, strange new location, people running around doing… something? She’ll just had to get her bearings, for now, wander these streets. Turn a corner….

“Oh-!”  She stops herself just in time, mercifully preventing a collision with another. She was quick to apologize despite the lack of incident. “Sorry! I wasn’t paying attention.”

❝ Oh-- no no, it’s quite alright, I should have been looking too!❞

     THE question struck him as odd, given the situation–  But given that whatever brought people here had already brought Giorno and Fugo, it didn’t necessarily seem impossible. Even so, Abbacchio quickly caught on to the nervousness, and raised an eyebrow.

     ❝ … Yeah? ❞

     ❝ I’ve never heard of you. Italy’s big, what part did you come from? ❞

❝Uhm well.. It’s - Not too important. I worked along side some pretty important people in Italy, let’s just say. I moved away fro my home after an incident. What’s your name?❞

    HE couldn’t shake the feeling of deja-vu that had suddenly descended on him upon catching sight of the other. It was strong enough to put him on guard.

   ❝ …. Hey. Have I seen you before? ❞

❝ Come to think of it, you do look familiar.. I’m from Italy, are you from there as well?❞

‘Crap, crap crap. What is he doing here.’

Thinking and panicking to himself, Doppio was very worried about being found out now. Nervously fidgeting with his hem of his sweater.

“Wait.”

He stares at the hand, bewilderment taking over any hesitation he might have had.

“Are you - fucking joking? Your name is Vinegar?”

And he thought the God of Mischief was a wild fucking ride.

He doesn’t take his hand - not immediately, but when he does, it’s tentative. Careful, like a business deal you don’t want to take. Doppio - which is a much better thing to say, it sounds better, less ridiculous - has large eyes, and Hoxton doesn’t break his stare. He grips the hand firmly, politely, then draws back.

“Didn’t - just didn’t expect that. That’s your real name? Won’t make a scene. Jesus.” The composure returns. “James. Just - James. Bit of a problem with the family, aye?” 

He fixes his tie and moves past Doppio - less rough, still bewildered. His hands roam to his hips, resting close fists and looking at the spacious apartment. You could fit another bed between the dining set and the living room couches. You could fit a couple of things - furniture. Bags. Money. Weapons. It’ll be a while until he can think that far.

Looking over his shoulder, he notes Doppio’s attire. “So - what, they pull you from the 80s? I could spot you in a crowded street…”

❝ Is there a problem with my name? If you want you can just call me Doppio if it’s that much of a problem.❞

It was as if a voice continued to speak to him in the back of his mind to stay calm, he didn’t sound hurt by the statement on his name,  he was more so annoyed by the sudden rudeness. Though he didn’t know this person, and he wouldn’t want to start off on the wrong foot right? So, he listened.

❝James, it’s nice to meet you, and not quite, I’m from Italy , year 2001, I just have no idea what’s.. Really going on. ❞

“Open house is over, sunshine - outta the way.”

The largest bedroom of the apartment opens to the living-dining room, as well as a deck. After spending four years in a warehouse turned - well, safehouse, it can take a while to get used to your new accommodations.

But even so, he already took the envelope in this one. He checked the other rooms. There were none, sadly.

Hoxton doesn’t elbow the man out of his way - just nudges him with enough force to get past. He carries a brown suit jacket in his hands - the light smell of lemon lingers off the warm fabric. In the same vein, his white shirt seems almost barren without the very jacket covering him.

“You my flatmate?” Hoxton asks over his shoulder, opening a barren closet to hang the suit in. It looks empty. A little alone. “Fuckin’ brilliant. Nothing against you, a’course, just wish we got a little more heads up who’d be in our flats when we got here.”

The closet door shuts.

“Guess that’s too much to ask for. Who’re you?”

❝ Eh hey?❞

Doppio had to bite his tongue for a moment when he heard this guy’s attitude. He was certainly something. A tall man, dressed well enough, he had confidence and more importantly something that would be admirable in Passione . He was really willing to make new friends and stuff, but.. If it got rough he may be a bit, rough.

❝ Ciao! Yeah, Here’s where I stay as well, we may have one or two others, but I’m not exactly sure. My name is Vinegar Doppio, who are you?❞

“dcburu started following you”

     FOR some reason, the right side of Abbacchio’s torso starts to itch. Weird… It’s probably nothing.
