hello. you can call me Dax, Daxxtorm or Daxie. I'm an artist focused on building and exploring my own universes. I love the aesthetics of post-punk in the post-Soviet space, especially in Ukraine. grey panel houses, old courtyards… that's where I grew up. I'm also drawn to the atmosphere of America from the 1930s to the 1970s, along with many things connected to that era. Honestly, this is the first time something in media/pop culture has hit me hard enough to actually make me wanna make art about it. The dark, unhinged humor? Yeah, it got me. I’m locked in. The idea just kinda popped into my head. I was vibing with the neon palette and felt like doing something with that energy. It’s lowkey just an experiment though. That’s it.

oh god, so much has happened — I moved into my own flat got into university (yep, I’m studying journalism now). anyway, this was a super old sketch, but i finally cleaned it up and made it look decent. so yeah, here it is.

God, I thought I’d never finish this piece… I don’t even know how long I spent on it, but it was a nightmare. Still, I like how it turned out.

I was sitting here thinking and realized that drawing on paper just isn’t my strong suit. still, I’m gonna drop this slightly embarrassing piece while I work on finishing something else.

It’s hard to explain — I do enjoy traditional drawing, but my skill tends to jump all over the place. The main issue is probably that my sketchbook is tiny, like A6 size, so it’s a bit of a struggle. In digital, I’m used to huge 4k by 5k canvases, which feel way more comfortable. and yeah, a bigger sketchbook would be nice, but it’s just not as easy to carry around everywhere.

honestly, I get that it’s easy to get confused — I’m running two timelines at once in “The Neighbors”. but here’s the important part:

Khanin, Liliya, and Kirya are from 1972. (Bakhytzhan, Kolyan, and Zheka are side characters) Denys, Kot, and Marinka are from 2017. (with Max as a side character and an older version of Liliya)
