That’s understandable. I mean, it’s not exactly surprising to hear that people change after losing someone close to them. I think my siblings and I all went through that. Perhaps work is just your father’s way of coping. What does he do?

I guess I could sort through it all if it was just a change, but he's kind of this completely different person. Sometimes... I hardly recognise him and wow, I probably shouldn't be blurting all this out to you. Oh..uh he's the President of Abstergo.

What’s the task, if you don’t mind me asking?

Stay close to my father, look after him. He works all pretty much all the time but since she's been gone... things have changed. It's not as easy to be around him as it once was.

Well, it’s certainly interesting. US is completely different from Korea, you know, culture and stuff. [He shrugs,] People are probably the most interesting beings in the world. They are so weird and unique. I guess it makes a sense that some enjoys observing them.

I can only imagine what a bit of culture shock you're having. I've never left the US, so kudos to you for moving to somewhere completely new. Weird and unique, that's a nice way to put things. I dunno, I just find it nice to switch off and sometimes that's as simple as watching someone rushing through here.

If I’m being honest, it never gets any easier. You just sorta have to get on with it, I guess. I keep telling myself that’s what my parents would have wanted.

I think that's why I just read a lot, takes my mind somewhere else. I know without a doubt there would be one thing she'd want me to do and the worst thing is, I tried and well, failed.

"Sure we can go to the library, just lead the way," Evangeline said while letting Lily move in front of her since she knew the way.  She followed her down the hallways, which lead them to a set of double doors to head outside into the fresh air.  They walked across campus making some small talk before they came across a grey, brick building covered with ivy.  They walked inside and Evangeline was taken back by the number of people milling around computers and aisles of books.  "I thought school just started. I’m kind of surprise that this place is so loud. I kind of imagine of a lady with glasses telling people to be quiet.  I feel like I’m in a mall or worse an airport."  She didn’t want to panic just yet, but she definitely was on alert.  Grabbing a couple of chairs for them, they parked in front of a computer so Lily could look up all the books she needed.

Lily was grateful that Evangeline was letting her continue on with the task she felt she really needed to complete. The last time her father had gone to this kind of security measure, Lily had no say in what happened, she just had to listen to barked orders and get home as quickly as possible. She definitely liked the way Evangeline was approaching this. She wasn’t great at small talk but tried her best to not fall silent as the pair crossed campus to Lily’s all time favourite place. She couldn’t help but smile at the woman’s comment, “it’s a little crazy at the moment, but don’t worry, we get told to keep it down. I wont be long and we can get out of this crowd.” She nodded her thanks for the chair before she zoned out from the noise and made sure the books she needed were available.

No time like the present! Especially for that class… what was it again? Shit, yeah, I’m really making a bang-up first impression here. Yeah, kinda. I train in Abstergo gym, host a lot of business meetings for him at my restaurant, that kinda thing. How’s it having a guy like him for a dad?

Oh well... uh... the class isn't that important, don't worry about it. No no it's fine, my father has so many people working for him it's hard to keep up. Oh ok, that's pretty cool, which restaurant? Um... it's good...

Um, no, it’s alright. Actually it’s been few months or so. I just haven’t had time to stroll around the park. 

A busy schedule can do that sadly. The strolling is good, but sometimes the people watching is just as entertaining.
