KATE idk if i ever gave you the rest of my story/if it sent. but after our impromptu ring shopping escapade 💍 ty and i had the marriage talk. we talked about our relationship, non-negotiables, family traditions and how we would want to split up everything from holidays to making new traditions etc, finances, children, where we want to live in the future, careers, we talked about a wedding, and we even talked about last names. a very long convo 💀 and we reiterated our old convos. about both putting in work in our relationship and handling conflicts. we talked about our views in general on marriage and what that looks like/means to us.
and at the end i was like i do have one question, and i want you to be honest with me. and he was like “what’s up” and i was like “did you ask [my friend] to ask me about rings” and he blushed and he goes “no, well, kind of. she actually reached out to me and told me the things you liked in a ring bc she ‘figured i’d need that info’ and told me you didn’t know she was telling me. and i was asked her if you wanted it to be a total surprise or if you had wanted to pick it out yourself and if she could find that out” and i was like 🥺 you’re too freaking cute. and he said “i wouldn’t have taken you in there today if i didn’t already know you wanted to pick it out” he also said that when he told his mom about marrying me 😭😭😭 that she told him to make sure he knew that info lmao. and i was like “well i actually want to pick it out together, not just by myself” and he goes “you’re cute. but i don’t care what it looks like, as long as you like it. you’re the one wearing it” and i was like yeah but it’s a token of our love for each other and you have to see it all the time so i don’t want you to hate it either. and he goes “a ring on your finger that signifies that you’re going to be my wife? trust me, i won’t hate it” 💀 that earned him an ily and making out on the couch. that turned into him carrying me to bed. and now ty has access to my wedding pinterest board lol -roommate anon
