"The mop and bucket are in the broom closet," she said. "There’s a mess by beds two and three."

He gave her a slight nod.  That wasn't the kinda help he had been suggesting.  He had been going for a 'I've been in here so many times, I could help with fixing up the youngen's' sort of thing.  But it was understandable.  He had no real medical training.

"Like I said, Slytherins don’t do pointless pranks. If they do something, it will have a reason. This was just a cruel joke. And a mess that I have to clean up," she paused. "Unless you’re volunteering."

He smiled at her.  "I did say I would help.  Just direct me where I need to go and what I need to do."

"Not all Slytherins waste their time on pointless pranks," She pursed her lips as she looked over at the younger student. "Is there something I can help you with."

"I know this, but they seem to be more active as of late," he shrugged.  "I just thought I'd come and visit, maybe help out if I could, since I haven't been in here as much this year."

"Whoever decided to curse third years to projectile vomit constantly, better hope I don’t find them."

"You'd probably want to talk to a Slytherin or one of the marauders.  They are your most likely subjects."  He lowered his voice a bit, "Though I would lean more towards the Slytherin's."

"My mum, yeah. But dad, no. Dad died when I was here." James sighed, running a hand through his hair as he watched Davey take a drink from the bottle, before then taking it back into his hands.

"Damn..." Davey breathed, looking down in front of him.  "I am truly sorry to hear that."  He glanced over at James before running a hand through his hair a few times, trying to think of what to do.

"I really hope they will.  We could both use some good luck."

"Well, if luck doesn't come quick enough, you could always brew a bit of luck.  It's suppose to be a hard potion to make, but you have one of the highest grades in the class.  I'm sure you could do it."

"Like what? Most girls in this place are boring." 

"Well, you could always practicing Quidditch with some friends and or fellow Quidditch fanatics, hang out with friends, or, a novel concept, get your school work done.  Just some suggestions.  It doesn't always have to be about girls."

"My parents died." James blurted out, still looking down at the bottle in his hands. He opened it with his deft fingers and swallowed a large gulp, before offering it out to Davey. "So it feels as if the world has collapsed around me, yeah."

Davey considered not taking the bottle, considering what had happened last time he had gotten drunk.  But he wasn't going to leave James by himself to get beyond drunk and deal with it by himself, not if he could help out, even a little bit.  A drink wouldn't hurt, so he grabbed the bottle and took a swig before handing it back to the grieving man.

"I do.  Things have been rough, since I got hurt and some stuff he’s dealing with, but I love him. 

"And I'm sure with you there, it makes it easier for him to deal with those things.  I'm sure things will get better soon."

"Only if I’m bored, although I’ve been giving most of my alcohol to James recently."

"There are more productive things you could do besides drinking when you're bored."

"That would be it.  I've noticed that you smile more since the two of you have been going out."

"I know but it’s hard when it seems like everything is against us lately."  

"I wouldn't say everything.  I can think of one good thing that happened to you this year."

"I’m fine." James spoke quickly, turning back to look out of the window on the other side of him. 

Davey stared at him for a few seconds before sitting down and leaning back.  He was not going to be leaving any time soon.  "James, you know that on the 'Are You Alright?' scale, 'I'm fine' doesn't mean that you are fine.  It's below 'Horrible.'"  He let out a huff of air, looking about the room before looking back at the Gryffindor.  "What's wrong?  ...or what happened to make you act like the world has collapsed around you?"

"I used to find school so much more interesting."

"I hear you there.  But this is our last year.  We have to enjoy it while we can."
