Adults who think Pride is about "turning" anybody (esp. children) queer are disgusting as well as, ironically, exactly the reason movements like Pride must exist. Such a belief demands denial of the plain fact that humans (and other species) can be and often are born queer. That belief dismisses actual queer children and tells them "Whatever you are, it's not normal."

Pride is looking that child in the eyes after they've been told by a parent, another adult, or a peer that they can't accept them for who they are and saying "Don't you let them bully you, you are perfect."

It isn't about sex, and the fact that knuckle-draggers like MAGA insist on making it about sex is why they're the disgusting ones.

sometimes i get weirdly anxious about the fact that thousands of years of evolution have led to my specific bloodline and it will almost certainly be ending with me. but then i remember the same is true of like every fly that dies in a drink before it gets the chance to reproduce so like. who am i to get all precious about the concept of bloodlines really. who give a shit. my ancestors arent any better than that flys ancestors.

The reason I can't ever be satisfied with a song I've written is because I haven't tried playing it under the influence of the right drug or recording it while somebody tries to distract me with a tambourine yet.
