       Molly decided to pop in the tavern to grab a quick pint, taking a needed break from her hectic day – though the topic her younger cousin brings up hardly allows her to relax. “ I find it amusing you think I’ve got something to sell. ” Her eyes fall to the vial in the other girls’ hands, the color reminding the healer of a draught - sleeping or calming, perhaps. She wonders if it’s for Lily, or perhaps a piece in whatever she’s going on about. She looks for signs of restlessness in her, but doesn’t press on. Instead, she allows a small smile to pull at her lips, eyebrow raising. “ And what do you need illegal items for, may I ask ? ”

Swear by Merlins beard, I’m not actually looking for something. ❜ Shifting uncomfortably on the barstool, she reached for her glass of whiskey. Lily was used to being quick with a case, but this recent case had left her feeling walled in. No leads, nothing that was taking her investigation anywhere. A professional rut was not what she had planned. ❛ I don’t even want to think about work, it feels like I’ve been hitting one wall after another. brows can’t help but perk up at the familiar voice of his cousin, turning to face the other, “no. not for many reasons.” a soft chuckle escaped from his lips, “have you FORGOTTEN who you’re talking to? when have i ever been able to break a rule of any kind?” hugo eyed her suspiciously, “you’re up to something. do i even WANT to know?”

❛ The less you know, the better. So no more trouble than usual. ❜ Slipping the vial into her bag, she turned back to her cousin with a smile. ❛ So, how have you been? I’ve been so wrapped up with work and a few other things, I’m sorry I haven’t come by in a while. ❜ Lily hadn’t been able to muster the courage to pop by and check upon him. What could she have done, asked him how he was doing without his magic? It was a can of worms she was afraid of opening, afraid of knowing how deeply it might have affected the other.

Going anywhere since her return had been a nightmare. Paparazzi seemed to wait on every corner for the former quidditch star, and their questions were relentless. An expected result of vanishing without word for nearly six weeks, though that hardly made it feel less invasive. Head down as she left the stadium following her first commentating gig, Greer did her best to push through the crowd before she could be noticed. An attempt made in vain as her name was called and she found herself turning on impulse towards the voice. Shit. So much for escaping undetected.

With her beat-up, Holyhead Harpies hat pulled over to poorly disguise, she only had so long before someone recognized the bright red hair under it. It only took a moment before she understood what the other was trying to get away from, it would have been impossible not to notice the paparazzi following behind. ❛ Come on, let’s lose the cameras and get a bite? I know a way that will cut through the crowd. ❜

                 the  crisp  february  wind  tousles  raven  locks  .  he stands ,  unsure  .  pulling  his  coat  tighter against  him  to  ward  off  the  cold  seeping  into  his  bones  .  home  ,  again  .  he  has  grown  since  he  was  last  seen  .  he ‘ s  taller  ,  and  thinner  .  his  hair  is  longer  ,  and  his  cheeks  are  hollowed  .  his  eyes  ,  they  remain  the  same  striking  shade  of  green  .  lighter  though  .  happier  .   —  unsure  of  how  to  act  ,  and  with  his  hands  in  his  coat  pockets  he  musters  up  a  crooked  smile  .    “  you  alright  ?  ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶   you  look  like  you ‘ ve  seen  a  ghost .  ”

❛ I almost wish I had. ❜ The words felt like venom dripping from her lips. Lily longed to be a few years younger so that she could throw the tantrum in public that had been building inside for three years. Three years without hearing her brothers' voice, having to content herself with reading and rereading the postcards he would erratically send until they began fraying at the edges. ❛ You have some nerve just showing up out of the blue. What, did you grow tired of wherever you were and decide to abandon it without word? ❜ Arms crossed, her fingers dug into her leather jacket. There had been too many times when she had found herself chasing dark hair through a crowd, wondering if she would find her brother. Lily only found disappointment each time.
